Two virtual strangers find themselves sitting beside each other. A slightly awkward first meeting which opened the door several months later for our dearest friend Jennifer to say to Eldon “Hey, do you remember my friend Kimberly? You two should meet again!”
This followed with a plan, unbeknownst to Kimberly, for Eldon to drop by another gathering and lay the seeds of our courtship.
What would have been our first true date was canceled due to Kimberly catching the flu. Eldon then left for China and upon returning, he had the flu. We spent weeks communicating by phone and text eager for that first date.
As we planned the date, excited by the fondness developed over our long chats, we came to that fateful day. Yet that wicked pair fate and destiny swirled and blurred the world. For if we were to be together, we would have to bear a Polar Vortex. Though rare, snow and ice fell upon us from the skies with the tenacity of a child playing with his first snow globe.
But, we would not be denied this meeting yet again.
Our night was truly magical; let no one deny it. And it was; a dream, a happy wonderland that swept us both off our feet.
We couldn't know that night that we had found true love but I think we had an inkling, a tickle in our heart that nurtured us. What a rush it has been, falling in love and finding our forever person, the one that makes us truly happy!
“My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep. The more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite.”
– Romeo and Juliet, Act 2, scene 2, lines 140 – 142
