In an attempt to impress Kim from the start, Michael suggested that their first date be at The Skylark
In true Kim fashion, she arrived at least fifteen minutes early. Michael was, of course, running at least fifteen minutes late.
When they saw each other, they knew! They stepped into the elevator to ascend to their romantic rooftop table overlooking the Manhattan skyline and on the way up, Michael kissed Kim (talk about moving fast!).
For those of you who know Michael, the man loves to eat. The only thing he (might) love more is Kim! He also has a habit of wanting to order almost everything on the menu, and this night was no exception:
Michael: We'll have the Guacamole, Charred Edamame & Shishito Peppers, Tuna Poke Wonton Tacos, Beef Sliders, and the Herbed Sea Salt Dusted Truffle Fries. Kim, do you want anything?
Kim: And the lobster quesadillas!
Waitress: (speechless) Well, I think you guys will have enough food!
The only thing they didn't anticipate was that they would be SO into each other that they wouldn't end up taking a break from their conversation to eat! Barely any of the food they ordered was touched that night. The conversation was endless, and Michael may have even stolen a kiss...or twelve.
During a rare pause in their conversation, Michael went to the restroom. Kim called her mom and said, "I met the man I'm going to marry." Melissa told her daughter to "get through dinner first."
The date wrapped up sometime around midnight when the Skylark was closing, and Michael and Kim walked around the city for a little while, hand in hand, until it was eventually time for both of them to head home. Talk about a successful first date!
