Our Wedding

What started as a simple connection quickly turned into something we couldn’t imagine living without. Through laughter, late nights, big milestones, and everyday moments, we found our best friend in each other. Life has grown and changed us in the best ways, and through it all we’ve chosen love, teamwork, and a whole lot of laughter. We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with the people who mean the most to us, and we can’t wait to say “I do”.

VACATION RENTALS &amp; ALTERNATIVES: Many guests also choose private vacation rentals or Airbnbs in Waves, Rodanthe, Salvo, or nearby towns for larger group stays or oceanfront views. Vacation rental companies and property managers in the area can help find the right fit. TRANSPORTATION TIPS Car rental is highly recommended for guests arriving by air, as rideshare and public transportation options are limited in the Outer Banks area. Driving within the Outer Banks is scenic and straightforward along NC‑12, but during peak seasons (summer and early fall), traffic can be heavier, so allow extra travel time.

It is about 5–7 minutes from Waves. One of the Hatteras Island pier that stretches into the Atlantic with fishing opportunities and a relaxed family atmosphere. Bait, tackle, rods, and snacks typically available on site.

Rodanthe Pier – Historic Local Pier

It is a 30-45 minute drive from Waves. Learn about sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, river otters, and more. Interactive exhibits including touch tanks and daily programs!

North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island

One of the top local surf shops — gear rentals, boards, lessons, and water sports advice.

It is 25–30 minutes south of Waves. Well-rated 4×4 vehicle rentals ideal for sand driving and exploring the southern part of the OBX.

DRESS CODE

Our wedding will take place on the beach, so we encourage guests to dress comfortably while still keeping things polished and wedding-appropriate. Think elevated beach attire — nice, put together outfits that are comfortable for sand, ocean breezes, and warmer weather.

For Women

- Sundresses, maxi dresses, or midi dresses - Dressy jumpsuits or rompers - Lightweight fabrics are encouraged - Sandals, wedges, flats, or barefoot are all welcome Please avoid very casual attire such as: - Bathing suits - Flip-flops - Denim shorts - Super casual beach cover-ups

For Men

- Khaki pants or khaki shorts are perfectly acceptable - Button-up or collared shirts (short-sleeve or long-sleeve) - Loafers, boat shoes, sandals, or barefoot are all fine Please avoid: - T-shirts - Athletic shorts - Swimwear - Tank tops

Shoes

Shoes are optional — barefoot is absolutely okay and often more comfortable on the sand. If you prefer shoes, we recommend sandals, wedges, or flats that are easy to walk in on the beach.

Weather & Comfort

September weather can be warm during the day and breezy in the evening. We recommend bringing a light jacket or shawl for later in the evening.

Most importantly, we want our guests to feel comfortable and confident while celebrating with us. When in doubt, dress slightly nicer rather than too casual — and don’t stress, beach-appropriate attire is encouraged!
