Their story began on July 5th, 2021, with a match on the dating app Hinge and a bold opening line from Wesley: "I've got a date for both you and the guy in your pic." He was referring to a mystery man in Kimberly's profile photo, and the risky gambit paid off—she had a sense of humor.However, getting to the first date proved to be a challenge. Between Kimberly's annual beach trips to Delaware, a wedding, and a bout of COVID for each of them, their first meeting was delayed for a full month.They finally met on August 5th at Sonny's Patio Pub in Nashville's Germantown. In a twist of fate, they discovered they had both been at that very same bar for the Super Bowl earlier that year, standing within 25 feet of each other, completely unaware. The connection was immediate, with conversation that flowed and laughter that came easily.After the third date, Wesley dropped Kimberly off with a gentlemanly goodnight, but no kiss. A few minutes later, his phone lit up. It was a text from her: "Are you nervous to give me a goodnight kiss?" He replied instantly, "I'm not nervous, I'm just trying to figure out if you like me or not." It was a playful nudge that still makes them both smile.On September 23rd, Wesley asked Kimberly to be his girlfriend. Soon after, he introduced her to the sea of orange and white at her first University of Tennessee football game, where she quickly fell for the iconic oarnge and white checkerboard.Just eleven months later, they took a leap of faith and moved in together. Though terrified, they navigated the decision with thoughtful conversations, asking all the right questions before taking the step. This leap has since led them through four different homes, even across state lines. In the years that followed, they built a vibrant community, blending their circles of friends and traveling extensively. Through every adventure, big and small, they forged a foundation of shared joy and unwavering support that only grew stronger with time.The proposal on September 27th, 2025, was a masterpiece of romantic planning. Knowing how much her family's home in Delaware meant to Kimberly, Wesley orchestrated an elaborate surprise. He secretly flew to Knoxville, picked up his parents, and drove to Delaware to meet her family. To ensure she wouldn’t suspect a thing, he even arranged for their dog walker to help spoof his phone's location. As Kimberly’s family boat returned to the dock from a happy hour booze cruise trip on the water, she was stunned to see Wesley waiting there, ready to ask the most important question of their lives. She had no idea.From a witty opening line in Nashville to a surprise proposal on her favorite Delaware dock, their love story has been a journey of perfect timing, bold faith, and endless playful teasing. They decided to get married in Tennessee, bringing their story full circle in the state where their connection first sparked and now feels like home.Today, they are counting down the days to their wedding, still trading witty remarks, laughing at the little things, and more excited than ever to build their future together. After all the delays and detours, they've found exactly where they belong: with each other.

What to Wear to a Semi-Formal Wedding

Semi-formal is the ask. A suit, a cocktail dress, or dressy separates all work.If you want a little Tennessee in the mix, boots, a cowboy hat, or a bolo are welcome.If you’re traveling in: Tennessee fall is a different weather system than a lot of the country. A mid-November day here commonly runs from the upper 50s during the afternoon ceremony into the 30s once the sun goes down. Same day, two seasons. We suggest packing a jacket or a shawl just in case.Ceremony and cocktails are outdoors on grass and gravel. The rest of the venue is paved and indoors. Boots or a stable heel will make the outdoor parts easier. White is still reserved for the bride.

Dress Code

We are excited to spend our BIG day with you! You will see below some hotel reccomendations that are closest to the venue. We reccomend staying near the venue as downtown Nashville as it is about a 45 minute commute. We do have loose brunch plans for Sonny's Patio Pub in "Germantown" where we had our first date on Saturday, if you'd like to join and see the famous HonkyTonk Capital of the World.

We have a dedicated room block for our guests convience.
