Q + A

What date should I RSVP by?

We kindly ask that you RSVP by Friday April 12th. You can RSVP online on the "RSVP" tab on our wedding website, or you can call/text Sherry Richardson, Mother of the Bride, at 916-532-5538.

Am I allowed to bring my spouse/partner/plus one? Am I allowed to bring my children?

When imagining our special day, one of the most important things to us was to keep our wedding day as intimate as possible, so we are choosing to celebrate with only our closest family and friends. Our total guest list is 36. Therefore we respectfully ask that only the guest(s) named on the invitation attends. Other than immediate family members, we mindfully invited spouses/partners/plus ones only if a guest would otherwise not have known anyone else at the wedding. We understand that this is non-traditional, we appreciate your support and thank you so much for understanding!

How do I get to the venue? What are the driving directions?

The wedding is located at Mountain House Estate in Cloverdale, CA, north of Santa Rosa. For the convenience, safety, and enjoyment of our guests, transportation will be provided from the hotel to the venue and back. There will be two separate departure times (one early, one late) from the venue back to the hotel to allow guests options on when they are ready to say goodnight. We kindly request that guests utilize provided guest transportation as there is limited on-site parking available at the venue, and the drive from Cloverdale to the venue on Hwy 128 is not lit and is very windy. Please see the "Map & Guest Transportation" section for more details. ~~~ A map and written driving directions card has been included in the invitation. Please bring this with you when traveling, as cell service for GPS can be inconsistent in the local area. ~~~ If using GPS to navigate directions, please type in "Mountain House Estate" rather than the physical address, as mapping programs may provide incorrect directions when using the street address.

What time should I arrive for the wedding? What times does the wedding start?

Our wedding ceremony starts at 4:00 pm. Please begin arriving at 3:30 pm to find your seat, mingle with other guests, and settle in for a day of celebration. Please see the "Transportation" section for more details about guest transportation pick up/drop off times for travel from the hotel to the venue. ~~~ Please Note: Our venue does NOT allow guests to arrive before 3:30 pm. Thank you for understanding.

What time does the wedding/reception end?

Our wedding reception ends at 10 pm. For the convenience, safety, and enjoyment of our guests, transportation will be provided from the hotel to the venue and back. There will be two separate departure times (one early, one late) from the venue back to the hotel at night to allow guests options on when they are ready to say goodnight. We kindly request that guests utilize provided guest transportation as there is limited on-site parking available at the venue, and the drive from Cloverdale to the venue on Hwy 128 is not lit and is very windy. Please see the "Map & Guest Transportation" section for more details.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

The dress code is cocktail attire. We ask that guests wear something similar to what you would wear to dress up for business events, happy hours, fundraisers, and other dressed-up celebrations. We suggest knee-length, tea-length, or floor length dresses or dressy separates for women, and that men wear a suit or dress shirt (jacket suggested because it might be cold), no tie required. MOST importantly, we want you to be comfortable and feel like yourself. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact Sherry Richardson, Mother of the Bride, at 916-532-5538.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors? What will the weather be?

The ceremony will be outdoors at the "Oak Tree Terrace," a beautiful intimate amphitheater between two grand oak trees. The cocktail hour will be in the Great Room and Bar inside the venue. The reception will take place on the outdoor patio of the venue, which has patio umbrellas (and heat lamps if needed). If weather does not cooperate and it starts to rain there is a backup plan to have dinner and dancing in the Great Room as well. According to the Weather Channel website, the average high temperature in Cloverdale, CA on April 27th is 77 degrees with an average low of 46 degrees. The current forecast as of 3/28 according to the AcuWeather website is a high of 71 degree and a low of 43.

What type of food will be served at the wedding?

Our caterer will be serving 3 appetizers during cocktail hour: Meat and cheese charcuterie board, Chicken satay with sweet Thai chili sauce, and Korean Boa Buns. For dinner the following will be served buffet style: Sonoma Salad (mixed greens, dried cranberries, red onions, sliced tomatoes, goat cheese, candied walnuts, and balsamic vinaigrette), Herb dinner rolls, and two entrees with two sides: Tri Tip in Burgundy mushroom sauce with garlic mashed potatoes, as well as Yellow Chicken Curry with white jasmine rice. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform Sherry Richardson, Mother of the Bride, at 916-532-5538.

What type of alcohol will be served?

A selection of wine and beer will be provided for guests to enjoy starting at cocktail hour and proceeding through dinner and dancing. Champagne and sparkling apple cider will be provided for toasting. A variety of non-alcoholic beverages will be provided for guests to enjoy throughout the evening.

Am I allowed to take photos/videos at your wedding?

We are planning an unplugged wedding ceremony and ask that guests not use their phones during this time. We want to share this intimate and meaningful moment with you without the distractions of devices and allow our professional wedding photographer and videographers the ability to capture the memories without intereference. We gladly welcome photos and videos at the cocktail hour and reception, but ask that guests are mindful of and respect our professional photo and video teams.

Can I post wedding photos on social media? What is your wedding hashtag?
