Our Wedding

Jose and Kim met through the digital world of Facebook. After seeing Kim in a post, Jose sent her a friend request—one that Kim accepted not long after. What started as a simple message quickly grew into long conversations, nightly phone calls, and constant messages. Before they knew it, they were falling for each other, bonding over their shared love of food, family, and travel.Their first date brought Jose to Grand Island, where they spent the evening looking at Christmas lights and, of course, eating. Kim had shared how much she loved the holiday season, and Jose listened well, planning their first few dates around Christmas festivities. That thoughtful effort made Kim even more excited about him. For the next two years, they made the drive between Grand Island and Lincoln, building their relationship through road trips, weekend visits, and countless little moments that brought them closer.Early on, Jose shared his passion for travel, and together they dreamed about all the places they hoped to explore. Just a few months into dating, they planned their first trip to the ocean—a moment that confirmed how much they loved discovering new adventures side by side.Not long after, Kim stumbled across a TikTok suggesting a fun idea: write down travel destinations on slips of paper and pick one from a cup. (Kim always has the best ideas.) They wrote down seven countries, drew one, and landed on South Africa—a trip they later shared with friends. From a 16-hour flight to a 24-hour drive to New York, they embraced every journey with excitement and curiosity. Together, they’ve explored many beautiful places, both across the U.S. and around the world.Along the way, they realized how naturally they supported and balanced each other—Jose with his adventurous spirit and Kim with her warm, thoughtful heart. Somewhere between the late-night calls, endless snacks, and airport chaos, they knew they had found their forever travel buddy.In the summer of 2024, during the College World Series, Jose got down on one knee and asked Kim to marry him—and of course, she said yes in a heartbeat. It marked the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in their journey. Now, they can’t wait to continue exploring the world together and to celebrate their next adventure as husband and wife.

Dress to impress! Men, we recommend light colors like grey, tan, and blues since it is September. Please wear slacks or dress pants, and a nice dress shirt with a tie or bowtie. Women, dress your best and feel beautiful.

Dress Code

The hotel reservation is automatically set for three days; edit the check-in date if you are only staying on Friday and Saturday. Due to hotel regulations, it is a mandatory two-day stay. Since it is the first Husker game, this is the best rate we could get. We appreciate you all traveling for our wedding! Spanish: La reserva de hotel está configurada automáticamente para tres días; modifique la fecha para que sea el viernes y el sábado. Debido a las normas del hotel, la estadía mínima es de dos días.
