Downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have so many things to see and do! There are mountain coasters, hillbilly golf, arcades, dinner shows, distilleries, sky parks, winding drives, famous restaurants, shopping, and other attractions. There is a free trolley that can take you around downtown, or there is paid parking in Gatlinburg. There is also free parking on River rd, and if you eat at Smoky Mountain brewery or the restaurants in that shopping center, they will validate your parking up to 3 hours I think. Pigeon Forge will require a vehicle to get from place to place but also very touristy and lots to see and do.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
The National Park has a lot to see and do. The visitor center is a short drive from downtown Gatlinburg. You can find most information regarding road closures, activities, hiking maps, scenic drives, and more. Cades Cove is a great drive to see historic cabins, churches, and wildlife within the park. It is a one way loop. In off season, it will take about 2 hours to go through it all without major hikes.
