Our story began in the fall of 2021. We were both on a dating app where we got connected and decided to go on our first date in November of that year. All though I knew I wanted you to be my forever god had other plans in store for us first. Spring of 2022 we had reconnected, with a snowstorm shutting down Williston Emery braved the storm to come pick me up so we could hang out and get to know each other more. (Highly recommend getting stuck in a storm together!) I ended up spending 3 days with where we played card games watch movies and just hung out. Something in me pulled and I knew emery was going to the one. The man upstairs again said not quite yet. Early days of 2024 came and I was a mess with my life in the middle of moving and swapping jobs. Emery came in again and this time I said you aren't going anyway. through the good and bad he didn't run, he didn't even filch, and I knew I made the right choice. May 2024 he finally! asked me to be his girlfriend. we had a fun summer explore and traveling. September of 2024 I finally agreed to move in with him where we started our own mini family with riley and snickers. talking our plans and future goals working on how to get there. December rolled around and we had planned to go to Kansas City to see a chief's game! I thought it was time, and you were going to ask the big question :) although you didn't ask, we had an amazing time, and the chiefs won that game. the new year rolled in with your new job and a snowmobile trip we had barely seen each other and decided to take our own trip to get away. we picked Canada and booked the trip! we did a lot of exploring went to some really cool waterfalls, but there was one left for the day that emery wanted to go see. we did a lot of walking, and I had asked if that one we were able to drive up to cause let's be honest I was exhausted from walking around in muck boots all day. when we arrived, it was closed off and had to hike into the lake. I complained but we eventually agreed we would do it. we ate some sandwiches we had packed and started the walk in. on the map it said 1 mile to the lake I really didn't think it was going to be so bad. except the entire trial in was up hill and snow covered. I was getting pretty crabby at this point. I kept asking to turn around and emery was admitted we kept going. I complained but we kept on. once we did finally reach the lake it was worth it the view was amazing, and the mountains were beautiful. we took some pictures and due to the beware of bear signs everywhere I was ready to get back to the pick-up. Emery had asked we take one more picture together and then out of nowhere gets down on one knee and asked me to marry him <3 I was completely shocked and filled with all the emotions, I said yes and the rest is history!
