We had the coolest opportunity to be able to take some of our engagement photos in this adorable Airbnb. This particular Airbnb holds a very special place in our story, as it was where we stayed on our first trip together to visit Wilmington, NC. It was here that we ultimately decided to make the move and start a new chapter together in North Carolina!

Things to Do in Wilmington, NC

One of the many reasons we love to call Wilmington "home" is that there are so many fun things to do in the area! There is truly something for everyone here. Check out some of our favorites below and during your visit! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

1. Historic Downtown / Wilmington Riverwalk

Walk the Riverwalk- 1.75 miles&nbsp;of Riverwalk stretching along the bank of the Cape Fear River. The Cotton Exchange- A historical, eight building complex, dating back to the 19th century. Explore through cobblestone walkways and open-air courtyards and you shop the 30+ specialty shops here. Market Street and Front Street- Home to many shops and restaurants. Wilmington Water Tours OR The Henrietta- Take a scenic and informative boat tour of the Cape Fear River along the port and historic Wilmington. Horse drawn Carriage Tours (Market Street): 30 minute tours along the riverfront and past stately mansions of historic Wilmington with their rescued&nbsp;horses

Trust us, photos do not do this place justice. Whenever we have friends and family visit, this is on the top of our list of places to bring them. Airlie’s historic property encompasses more than 67 acres of spectacular gardens, seasonal blooms, mighty live oaks, walking trails and historic structures. The self-guided walking experience allows visitors to explore more than a dozen gardens.

Mayfaire is close to Wrightsville Beach and a great area for shopping in both name brand and locally owned shops. There is also a movie theatre and trampoline park if you are looking for something fun to do! The area is home to many different restaurants if you want to grab a bite to eat!

One of the biggest events of the year in Wilmington! April 3rd-April 7th. "Colorful Parades, bustling Street Fairs, charming Home and Garden Tours. Spectacular Fireworks, nationally-known entertainment, and the majestic coronation of a Festival Queen and Princess.
