Q + A

Transportation

Ride sharing services are unavailable in the Galena area. We highly recommend calling Galena's General Express LLC. to arrange transportation, if needed. You can call or text (815) 275-5546 for more information.

What Should I wear?

Dressy-casual or cocktail attire is totally fine! Just don't show up in your Daisy Dukes or Birthday Suit please. Please remember, this venue is outdoors so we want everyone to look their best, but also to be comfortable! Ladies, we strongly advise to wear sandals, wedges, or a chunkier heel and avoid those stilettos. Out of respect for the bride, please refrain from wearing white, ivory or cream.

Do I have to RSVP?

Yes. An RSVP is absolutely REQUIRED for every invited guest. It is essential in planning for the ceremony seating and reception meals

How do I RSVP?

You RSVP directly through the website's RSVP page.

If I am unable to attend, do I still need to reply online with decline to attend?

Yes, every invited guest must respond by accepting or declining the invitation. Please RSVP online by clicking will not attend for each person in your party. Please adhere to these guidelines as this helps the bride and groom have an accurate count for all invited guests.

What if I don't RSVP, may I still come to the ceremony and/or reception?

No, an RSVP is required. Due to space and planning limitations, for both the ceremony and reception, accommodations will not be made for those that do not RSVP. This will be strictly enforced.

Are children included in the invitation?

We realize many parents would like to bring their children to the wedding ceremony and reception. However, to allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our special day adults only. We thank you for your understanding!

AM I ALLOWED TO BRING A GUEST/DATE?

If a date is invited, it will be listed on the formal invitation as "Your Name & Guest". Your online RSVP should also include a guest! If any questions, please reach out to Kim or Zac.

WHEN SHOULD WE ARRIVE AND WHERE DO WE STAY?

We recommend coming a day early so you can explore Galena and all it has to offer! Most hotels in the area are two night minimums (please see the "Where to Stay" tab for more details!). Additionally, there are plenty of AirBNBs and rentals in the area that offer one night stays!

What if I am running late to the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. If you arrive late, you will not be permitted to enter into the ceremony. However, there will be a nearby waiting area in which you may have a partial view of the ceremony. You are welcome to wait in this area until the completion of the ceremony so you may join the couple for the reception. Please make plans to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.

What should I do in the event I/we can't make it after I/we RSVP?

Please let us know as soon as you know your plans have changed, that way we can make the necessary changes.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE

The ceremony is wheelchair accessible. There are golf carts on the property that Oak Hill staff will utilize for anyone that may need assistance. The reception area is wheelchair accessible.

WHERE DO I GO ONCE I GET THERE?

Oak Hill is meant to be explored! Please feel free to arrive early before the ceremony, or you can explore during cocktail hour. We have included a map of the property below. Our guests are encouraged to check out the Country Store and Schoolhouse!
