Washington Park is a beautiful park in NW Portland with a variety of family friendly activities!
Forest Park
Forest Park is one of the largest urban forests in the country! Want to take a hike in the Pacific Northwest on some easily accessed trails? This is a great place to look. This park has a massive network of trails for you to experience the verdant forests of Oregon at whatever difficulty sounds appropriate for you and yours. Try a section of the Leif Erikson Trail, Dogwood Trail, or the Lower Saltzman Trail!
Council Crest Park
Take in some mountain views from this high point in SW Portland! You can either take a short (1.3 mile) hike up the Marquam Trail---we start at Marquam Nature Park, or drive up to the top and enjoy the views
Hopscotch is a trendy immersive art experience in inner South East Portland! Think of it like an art show where you're supposed to play with the exhibits. Lots of fun colors, lights, and interaction!
Every Saturday, tons of artists, vendors, and food carts from the region come together for the Portland Saturday Market. It's a lovely way to spend some time by the river, check out the work of some of Portland's amazing creatives, and have some tasty snacks!
Portlanders take a lot of pride in our food scene. We have some of the best restaurants anywhere (fact, not opinion). Food carts are a very big part of this!
There are tons of great options throughout the city. We frequent Cartopia, Hawthorne Asylum, Portland Mercado, Sellwood Corner Food Carts, and Piedmont Station. The food tastes extra good when you're coming back from a hike ;-)
Looking to get out of the city? Head about 30miles East on I-84, and you won't be able to miss this stunning waterfall! This is an extremely popular destination, and the parking lot frequently fills up, so we recommend going early/on a weekday if you want to go. Should the exit be closed due to the lot being full, don't panic! There's a back up waterfall just another exit or so down the road! While not *quite* having the dramatic height of Multnomah, Horsetail Falls is another gorgeous, easily accessed waterfall, with the option of a hiking trail which will lead to even more!
Ground Kontrol is an all ages Barcade in downtown Portland. They have everything from pinball, to Pacman, and plenty of modern arcade games too! It's an impressive collection, and a fun way to hang out for an hour or two.
