We love Excelsior, especially in the summer time! Parking can be tricky, but get ice cream at Lick's Unlimited, Tommy's Tonka Trolley - serving Sebastian Joe's ice cream - best Cookies and Cream ice cream ever created; and try Adele's frozen custard too! Lagos Tacos is an excellent Mexican restaurant, Olives Pizza, Nautical Bowls and The Lobby has great coffee and treats! The Lake Effect is one of my favorite stores and is so hard to walk out of empty handed.
For a walk around the lake, mini golf on real grass, paddle boating, and lawn bowling.
Founded in 1958, The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is a 1,200-acre public garden in Chaska, Minnesota, that attracts over 600,000 visitors per year. Best known for its beautiful display gardens, nationally recognized tree collections, protected natural areas and research activity, the Arboretum is easy to explore via paved paths, such Three-Mile Walk and Three-Mile Drive, which are open year-round. Many miles of wooded trails, stone pathways and routes for cross-country skiers and snowshoers provide access to the healing power of nature in all seasons.
A great place to walk around but a purchased ticket is required!
Since opening in 1988, the Garden has welcomed millions of visitors, showcasing works from the Walker Art Center’s renowned collections of modern and contemporary art in the setting of an urban park. The Garden is a partnership between the Walker and the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, a national award-winning park system.
Great happy hour!
If you go, you have to try some of their desserts - Paddy Cake is one of my favorites!
