Kin: "I moved back to the Big Island in 2019. I felt called to the island's beauty, called to reconnect with family roots, and called to pursue a challenging career. The island has a way of pulling and pushing. Over the next 4 years I would endure some difficult times - we all did. The whole world was forced into a state of isolation that felt intensified by the surrounding vastness of the ocean. But the call to stay remained, and strengthened. I had difficulty explaining that feeling, that sense of an underlying purpose, the silent encouragement to hold tight to the floating rock I found myself on. I knew with trust and patience it's reason would become clear. I know now that the call was for Aiko. Sure, it may have seemed like work, family, paradise. ﻿But it was always Aiko. I'm glad I answered."

Clark’s from Oregon but is now Kin’s closest Texan friend. They’re in the same book club.

Dan is a Snoqualmie based artisan and fisherman who for years has made Kin laugh at the most ridiculous things.

Born and raised in Waimea, this Big Island braddah is Kin’s soccer team captain and golf caddy.

Always good for a wild story, Jacob or “J-Boi” was Kin’s roommate during their study abroad program.

Returning from time living in Brazil, Rene will likely be the best dancer at this wedding. He was Kin’s college roommate.

Arriving at the Venue

We HIGHLY recommend getting an Uber or Lyft to the venue. There is very limited parking at the event, but if you do drive, only 4WD vehicles are allowed too park in the grass. All other vehicles must park in the gravel. The lot is just to the right as you enter the property across from the Pavilion.

Leaving the Venue - Taxi Service

Holualoa roads are dark, windy and narrow. We need everyone to be safe after partying hard so we've taken the liberty of arranging transportation for the imbibers among us. Taxi service will begin at 9:30pm. Find your dropoff area and name below. If your name is not on this list and you need a ride, please speak up. We are surrounded by good people willing to help each other. The greatest gift you can give us following our event is to prioritize your health and get home safe.

Room block dates are reserved for the days surrounding the wedding date to allow you to book your stay anywhere between June 19 - June 28th at our block rate. Room rates are based on single or double occupancy and subject to 17.962% tax (subject to change).&nbsp;Additional person rate is $45 per person plus tax, with a maximum of 4 people in a room.&nbsp;The resort will waive the resort fee, normally $25 + tax per day and will extend free parking (normally $25/day).&nbsp; Please book by calling Aileen at 808-930-3256 (M-F 9:00a-5:30p HST) or Central Reservation at 800-222-5642. Please mention "Seffinger/Kang Wedding". Two nights room + tax deposit required to confirm individual reservation. Sorry, online booking is not available.

Below you'll find a list of some of our favorite things to do around the island ranging from adventurous to more relaxed. It's called the Big Island for a reason. Many places may require a bit of a drive to get to and from, so be mindful of the location and vehicle requirements of the many hidden gems around the island when planning your stay. As guests of our wedding you are also guests of this land, or 'aina. We ask that you represent our extended ohana well by treating the lands, people, and culture with utmost respect during your stay. Please leave things as you found them, take special care not to litter, and use reef safe sunscreen when entering the water. Mahalo, and enjoy!

Favorite Beaches

Kin's second favorite white sand beach with snorkeling. 25 minutes north of Kona.

Kua Bay

Beautiful white sand beach 45 minutes north of Kona. Luck of the draw when it comes to parking through Mauna Kea Beach Resort. Best to go early AM and it's worth it. If you can't get in, no worries, you're 5 minutes away from Hapuna.

Kaunaoa

Largest white sand beach on the island. 45 minutes north of Kona.

Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area

White sand beach in Kona. Bigger shore break waves and volleyball.

Magic Sands Beach Park

AKA "Two Step," Honaunau has a paid historical heritage site with ancient Hawaiian monuments and structures. Honaunau beach itself is free and offers some of the best snorkeling on-island. You will pass many snorkel rental spots on the way from Kona Town.

Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park

AKA "Pine Trees," this is another great surfing spot just north of Kona. It's also a great place to catch a truckbed beachside sunset without having to drive too far from town.

Kohanaiki Beach Park

One of Kin and Aiko's favorite surf spots in Kona. It also offers excellent easy access snorkeling.

Kahalu’u Beach Park

For the adventurous...

We’ve both done tours with this company before. They do a good job teaching about the animals and the area. The night dive with manta rays is a bucket list activity.&nbsp;

Kona Snorkel Trips

We haven’t done this personally but you couldn’t ask for a more scenic spot to drop! Kohala is Kin’s favorite mountain on island and a dive here would give you an unmatched view of the north Kona landscape.

Big Island Gravity Skydiving

Kin dove scuba with Jack’s along with a few of his groomsmen. This is a bucket list activity. You’ll need to reserve a day to train with the equipment and be mindful of the next day's travel (avoid high altitude for 24 hours after diving), but it’s well worth it.

Jack's Diving Locker

Sunrise or sunset at the summit offer incredible other worldly views in one of the most sacred places on earth. Be mindful of the risk of altitude sickness, and be respectful of others who may be practicing ceremonies or offerings. Requires 4WD vehicle.

Mauna Kea Observatory

This is one of the few green sand beaches on the planet. You have the option to pay for a very bumpy truck bed ride into the beach or hike the 3 miles each way. Very windy, very dusty, very powerfully beautiful.

Green Sand Beach

Free lava tube tour where you can see the many different formations of rock from old flows on the Hilo side of the island. You'll want to bring your own flashlight or headlamp.

Kaūmana Caves

One of the largest accessible lava tube systems in the entire world. Guides take you through the history and the science behind the formation of these mind boggling underground caverns. Sneakers required. Flashlights and helmets provided.

Kula Kai Caverns

Culture, Scenic Areas, Hikes

Aiko’s favorite Heiau (ancient Hawaiian spiritual site). Pu'ukohola is the site of many ancient royal happenings, battles, and pivotal moments in Hawaiian history. Easy to navigate, videos, artifacts and historic structures.

Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site

Sweeping views of the “Valley of Kings.” Non-Hawaii residents aren’t permitted into the valley itself but it’s a great scenic stop if you’re headed to the north or east side of the island.

Waipiʻo Valley Lookout

You can take in the scenes from above or after a hike down into the valley. It's another very sacred site that offers breathtaking views and history you can feel beneath your feet.
