It’s weird, when thinking about how I wanted to start this because my first idea was to begin it with “Once Upon A Time” like you see in fairytale movies. I know, very cheesy, but when you think about our story it really is like a fairytale, something that would be in a Disney movie because of the magic and beauty it holds. Kinley and I met in the fall of 2020 during our freshman year at Georgia Southern. We came to know of each other through our fraternity/sorority GroupMe’s that we had in place for events between the two. Through there we exchanged our social medias and that was really the extent of it for roughly 50-60 days. Like most 18 year old kids we just sent the goofy snapchats of our faces back and forth and never had a real conversation until one night, December 8th 2020. That night I mustered up the courage to ask Kinley one simple question……”Do you like Christmas movies”? From there it seemed like an eternity to hear her response, in all reality it may have been 5 minutes, but the second I heard my phone chime and saw her name, the butterfly’s immediately flooded my stomach. Her response, simple, but carried so much weight, “yes I love Christmas movies”. After that we decided that I was going to come over and we would watch The Grinch (hands down one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time). Sitting there that night watching that movie with her was the most magical and heart warming experience I have ever had. When the movie ended and I left, and the only thing I could think about was the next time I would get to be with her, the bond that we had formed immediately just through a movie seemed inseparable. From there I knew that God had answered my prayers. After that night Kinley and I spent pretty much everyday together, learning more and more about each other and growing closer and closer. Exactly one month after we watched The Grinch, I asked her to be my girlfriend and the rest is history. Our road here today hasn’t been easy, we have had our ups and downs while navigating through life but I couldn’t imagine doing it with anyone else. Asking Kinley to marry me was the easiest decision I have ever made. She completes me and is my better half. I’m so excited to continue to go through this life we have together forever and create even more magical memories. -Bryce
