This was the first day we started talking over text, and now, 4 years later, it’s also our wedding date and gets to be our anniversary forever!!

First Date

On our first date, I made Connor come in my apartment and kill a GIANT bug for me. Him agreeing to do it was a great first impression :) But, later I think I gave him a bad impression of me when he asked if he could hold my hand and I responded with, “I’m good!” … sorry Connor!

We made it official!! We later realized that the day we met and the day we became official were both on the 18th of the month. This started a monthly tradition of  celebrations on the 18th, and 18 became a special number that we’d point out every time we saw it :)

2 and a half years went by

The Surprise Dates

Last Summer, Connor planned a couple of “surprise dates” to throw me off so I wouldn’t figure out when he was actually going to propose

Surprise Date 1: Walking around Furman

where he asked me to be his girlfriend

Surprise Date 2: Trip to Atlanta

he faked me out with a ring box and a sticky note inside saying “not today”

Surprise Date 3: The Final Surprise Date

This surprise date started with bowling, and we ended up getting assigned to bowl on lane 18 :) I always love coming across the number 18 and being reminded of God’s hand in our story, but seeing it this day, right before we got engaged, was even more special, and such a sweet God moment! 🤍

After that (well, after a detour trip to Target), we drove to a very random location in the middle of nowhere. We took a short walk and ended up in front of the beautiful sunflower field and Connor proposed :)
