Ian and I officially met on December 21st, 2021. Although it was our first time meeting in person, we had known of each other for several years. A few weeks before that day, my mom asked me a question that would unexpectedly change the course of my life: “Guess who’s single?” I wasn’t particularly interested, but I asked, “Who?” She replied, “Ian.”

At the time, I wasn’t looking for a relationship. But when she encouraged me to at least consider getting to know him as a friend, I decided to reach out. We made plans to spend time together, and I visited his family’s home. That evening, we decorated cookies, built gingerbread houses, watched movies, and wrapped presents together. I stayed until midnight, and it quickly became clear that something special had begun.

From that night forward, our relationship began to grow, thanks to a little encouragement from our moms and a lot of shared laughter and connection.

On August 30th, 2024, Ian proposed during a family trip to Panama City Beach, Florida. Though I believed we were simply going to take family photos, Ian had a beautiful surprise planned. As we walked down to the beach, I noticed a heart in the sand that read, “Marry Me Kinsley.” Not realizing it was meant for me, I smiled and said, “Looks like someone’s getting engaged… I guess it’s not me.” Moments later, I realized it was me.

The proposal was everything I had dreamed of and more. Ian thoughtfully planned every detail based on conversations we had shared, and brought my vision to life in the most heartfelt way.

We are so excited to begin this new chapter together, and we’re deeply grateful for the love and support that surrounds us. With God at the center of our relationship, we know we can face anything that life brings our way.
