Our Story

Picture of Our Story

Her freshman year, Kinsley needed a roommate for the next fall. One night, in the gym at Harding University, Kinsley walked up to a stranger, her now matron of honor, and asked if Ameleah would be her roommate. While Ameleah was hesitant about being roommates with a stranger, she agreed to dinner to talk it over. This dinner also included Samuel, Ameleah's boyfriend (now husband), Grant, a mutual friend, and Cooper. The dinner went well, so Kinsley became a constant member of the group. Cooper was instantly drawn to Kinsley, so he was sure to invite her to every friend group outing possible. He was able to invite her to almost everything the friend group did together. As the semester continued, the new friend group participated in Spring Sing together. Kinsley and Cooper were not a part of the same dance group, but they would place themselves next to each other on stage whenever possible. Around the end of the semester, Ameleah had had enough intercession between Kinsley and Cooper and set them up for a spontaneous "talk." The couple had no idea, but they had both been telling Ameleah how much they liked each other! They discussed their feelings, goals, and expectations in the talk and decided to get to know each other better before they made things official. Over the summer, Kinsley and Cooper talked as much as possible. Cooper even flew to see Kinsley mid-summer just to say hello. On the first day back to school, Cooper asked Kinsley to be his girlfriend. She obviously said yes, and the rest is history!

Since the beginning, the couple has felt an unexplainable comfort about the other and believes that their relationship is one of their greatest earthly gifts from the Lord. They both would vouch that the other is their clearest answered prayer. Kinsley and Cooper are excited about their future together and desire to love the Lord (and each other) for the rest of their lives.
