Timothy and I went on our first date on August 12th, 2019 after some of our friends convinced us that we should meet. We started chatting via facebook messenger on August 4th when Tim sent me a message explaining that we had mutual friends and that he enjoyed Candace Cameron Hallmark Christmas Movies. I was sold. Unfortunately, that message was sent off to some corner of facebook that I did not know existed. So on August 7th, I had to profusely apologize and hope that he would not think I was a complete idiot.

Our first date went so well. But of course, there is never a dull moment with Tim. He kept me laughing the entire time. By the end of the first date we knew that we wanted to go on a second date. By the end of the second date, we knew that we were with the person that we wanted to be with.

During this time, I was participating in 21 days of prayer with my church. I prayed fervently for Tim, but also that the Lord would be very clear about how we should proceed. The Lord showed me that I needed to keep dreaming, and keep believing in His promises.

Flashback to the end of July, 2019, Timothy felt lead by the Lord to quit his job in Mississippi, and move back to Enterprise. Within 3 weeks of returning, we met. I cannot even begin to explain the blessings that the Lord has shown us through our obedience and faith in Him.

Tim began volunteering with me at Faith Community Church that is in an underserved community in Enterprise. There was one kiddo in this community, Danty, that really needed someone. He was often distant from other volunteers, frequently yelled for no reason, and tended to throw chairs when he didn't get his way. All of that changed when Tim showed up. It was like they each gained a new best friend. I knew that this was the man I wanted to spend my life serving with.

Fast forward to October 24, 2020, the day Tim asked me to marry him. I honestly, and completely accidentally, tried to ruin this day in every way possible. I had been tested for covid earlier in the week. My cat ran away and I cried for days. Including the day he proposed. I was sitting on the couch, crying over the cat, and he came over and told me that we needed to get out of the house and go to the park. When we go to the park we like to string a hammock and read, so I was clueless. As soon as we got in the car it started raining. So the park was not going to work. I didn't know but he was now having to rework the entire proposal while driving the car and stalling because my parents were on their way to Enterprise. We started driving around Enterprise looking at houses, as we often do. He told me that my parents had a surprise for me at home, and we were going to run by before going to his parents' house for lunch. As we pulled up, my parents had delivered a beautiful bench to our front porch. There was also a Keel door hanger but I completely dismissed this as an accident. As we went to look at the bench, Tim suddenly got on one knee and asked me to marry him on our sweet front porch. Yet another blessing from the Lord!

We arrive at his parents' house. I still am completely clueless and in shock. I am trying to FaceTime my mom, my dad knocks on my window in the driveway. Tim had my parents and grandparents, along with his entire family at his parents' house for an engagement party! It was wonderful.

There were a few people we couldn't wait to tell! Among the list was our Faith Community Church kids. As a matter of fact, when Tim told Danty that we were going to get married after proposing, he turned around and yelled with excitement "Hey you guys! Mr. Tim's going to marry that girl!" While I would ordinarily not enjoy being diminished to "that girl," my heart overflowed.

After the engagement, when people would ask or mention it, I found myself saying, "It feels like a dream!" One night in small group I was reminded of what the Lord had laid on my heart over a year ago during the 21 days of prayer. Scribbled in a journal, I had been called to dream and to believe in God's promises. Proverbs 13:12 says "A promise fulfilled is a tree of life." Would you believe that the week before Tim proposed I had a dream that he would ask me? I remember waking up and wishing I could fall back asleep to dream it one more time. Little did I know, God would not only let me dream it, but live it. A dream come true!
