Our Wedding

OUR STORY

Koula's mother and Matthew's parents along with their extended families, originate in Ikaria, Greece. They have known each other their entire lives and as Koula and Matthew grew, they always hoped the two would hit it off. Despite the gentle nudges, Koula and Matthew went their separate ways, living their own lives and building their paths independently while occasionally bumping into each other again and again along the way. The final run in leading to getting together was at Koula's cousin Louie &amp; Amanda's wedding (their now Koumbari).

How He Asked

Before heading out on a vacation to Alaska with Koula's Dad and siblings, Koula suggested to Matt doing one of their favorite things, a sunset beach picnic. They regularly head to Venice Beach, just down the street from their apartment, to set up a blanket and watch the beautiful California sunsets with some wine and a pizza. Since this was Koula's idea (weeks before hand), Matt thought this was the perfect time for a surprise. As the sun set and it was slowly getting dark, Matt started to fumble into his bookbag, saying that he was looking for something that he got for Koula. Koula thinking he gotten her socks as she mentioned to him a few times needing them for the trip. To her surprise, it was certainly not socks. Matt popped the question and of course, Koula's reaction was instant tears, causing everyone else on the beach to stare. The next day they boarded the plane and celebrated along with Koula's family in Alaska!

Shuttle service from The Mansion on Main Street to the DoubleTree Suites will begin at 9pm and run until 11pm. All shuttles will run in a continues loop between the hours listed above.

Tourists, locals, the stroller set…the gang's all here and they're all taking in the art at their own pace. Some skip entire galleries based on interests, while others read every placard. It's a choose your own adventure kind of place. And if all of this culture makes you hungry, you're in luck. The Cafe is bright and welcoming and features a variety of tasty sandwiches, soups, pizzas, and more. Prefer to cool your heels in a more formal setting? The Stir is an elegant spot designed by Frank Gehry that's perfect for lingering and lunching. <a href="https://www.cntraveler.com/activities/philadelphia/philadelphia-city-hall" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">City Hall</a>City Hall isn’t the tallest building in Philadelphia, but it’s still hard to miss it when you're walking around Center City. The views of the building—the largest municipal building in the United States—are impressive, but don’t simply stroll past.
