In late fall of 2020, both AJ and Kirsten were on their phones just swiping away on dating websites, then all of a sudden, they came across each other's profiles and both had ended up swiping right. To be exact, they found each other on Hinge!As the conversation started to flow, eventually they gave their number to one another and started texting all the time. After an extremely long time of texting, I mean a very long time, after a month and a half they finally met. AJ was very active in softball and on his softball trip he unfortunately came home with covid and ended up prolonging the first date.After messaging back and forth, Kirsten ended up driving up to Dundee for their first date which they walked all around Dundee getting to know each other and went to dinner at Social House. They really just needed that first initial date to really start seeing one another and before we know it, Kirsten was in Dundee almost every weekend.For the first year of their relationship, they had a decent distance from where they lived, AJ living in Dundee Michigan and Kirsten living in Perrysburg Ohio. Which was roughly a 45-minute drive.A year had gone by in their relationship, going to many weddings, birthday parties for littles, events, Kirsten had ended up moving in with AJ by the end of summer 2021.Kirsten had always been around pets, but after moving out of her parents' house, she became lonely not having a fluffy companion around. After many months of discussion of getting some sort of animal in the house, Kirsten was scrolling on Facebook and ended up finding their current dog Miley. Miley had joined the picture in September 2022.Fast forward to June 2024. The guys had signed themselves up for a basketball tournament and this trip was out in Ludington Michigan. They had a long day of being out in the sun, either watching/playing basketball to being on the beach. After having a day full of basketball, they had gone out for ice cream and did an evening stroll out to the pier. They started taking group pictures and when it was Kirsten, and AJs turn for their photos is when AJ had proposed! Of course, Kirsten said yes!
