A Colorado wedding?! In NOVEMBER?!?
Fear not, lovely people. While there is, on average, a chance of snow during our wedding weekend, the average temperature for this time of year is 47°F during the day and 26°F at night. Roads will be plowed and drive-able, and any snow that falls will just add to the lovely scenery.
Florida family, I am sorry <3 Please reach out for additional hot cocoa and blankets.
If you plan to hike, please bring/rent good boots to keep your feet dry in snowy or muddy conditions, in case there has been wet weather recently.
Visitors who aren’t used to high-altitude hikes should take time to acclimate before hiking; take it slow on the trails, and pack extra water, snacks, and pain relievers. Start with easier trails and please never hike alone!
After a day in Estes Park, your body will naturally acclimate to the reduction in oxygen, and even overnight, you may notice that you feel normal. If you’re planning on heading to RMNP for a hike, plan on coming a day or two early, so that your body can get used to the altitude. Plus, you’ll get a bit of extra time to take in Estes Park!
The wedding venue backs up to Rocky Mountain National Park on 3 sides! Take advantage of the proximity to the Beaver Meadows Entrance and plan a visit to this gorgeous National Park during your stay. You may even bump into the Bride and Groom on one of the trailheads! We'll be out and about, enjoying the scenery and views leading up to our big day :)
Entrance fees:
A valid entrance fee or park pass is required to enter Rocky Mountain National Park. They range from $15.00-$35.00.
The YMCA of the Rockies has many amenities and activities on-site. Please check back closer to the date of the wedding to see their updated activity schedule here.

If hiking isn’t your cup of tea, drive right to the Bear Lake trailhead. After a quick half mile walk to the lake, visitors are greeted with stunning views of Hallett Peak which sits at 12,713 ft. and Longs Peak which towers at 14,259 ft. Enjoy trouncing around a frozen lake and don’t leave without that snow angel photo op!
Additionally, you cannot beat sledding among the incredible peaks and towering trees. Head to Hidden Valley Snow Park inside Rocky Mountain National Park via Beaver Meadows Entrance. Drive Trail Ridge Road to the Hidden Valley parking lot. The sledding hill is open from 10:00 am to 4 pm every day. Sled rental is available in Estes Park at several locations including the Estes Park Mountain Shop as well as The Warming House.
