We met on the small island of Okinawa, Japan while we were both active duty Marine Corps Officers. Our love of fitness and adventure quickly drew us together.

During the summer of 2018 we spent every weekend working out and finding new places to explore together. From WWII battle sites like Hacksaw Ridge, to mountaintop views, and hidden waterfalls, to crystal clear waters at white sandy beaches, Oki had it all. There was always something new and unique to find.

In the fall we planned an exciting trip to some of the nearby countries in Asia. We spent a week in Thailand in the cities of Chang Mai and Phuket, and a week in Bali, Indonesia in the cities of Ubud and Nusa Dua. We even had some long layovers in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan. We loved our time abroad and can't wait to add more countries to our list together. It's our goal to take an international trip each year.

In December we ran the Naha Marathon together, shortly before David left active duty service in January, 2019. We spent most of 2019 apart while Kirsty continued to serve in Okinawa and David began work with the Joint Staff in Norfolk, Virginia. During that year Kirsty had a work trip to the Philippines, and David had trips to Finland, Canada, and Sweden. We were blessed with a couple weeks together during the summer at the cabin in Minnesota, where we were engaged on a boat ride at sunset.

In December we decided to meet halfway in Maui, Hawaii for Christmas together. We hiked through the mountains and clouds, found waterfalls, and viewed Maui from helicopter. But the best part of our trip was an intimate wedding ceremony on the beach, just the two of us.

In March of this year Kirsty returned from Okinawa and left active duty service to begin work supporting the Department of Defense, while David took a job with the Federal Government. Together, we made the move from Norfolk up to Pasadena, Maryland where we live now. We may be stuck in "quarantine" but we are so excited to finally be together, and plan our wedding ceremony for the fall with our family and friends.

Registry

With our recent move to MD, we are not arranging a traditional registry. Your company on our special day is more than enough, but if you do wish to offer a monetary gift, we will set it aside for the day we are able to set roots.
