Love can find you when you least expect it…. Especially when you are not looking. For us, it came later in life but it’s never too late to find your soulmate.
We met the old-fashioned way – online! Neither of us were looking for anything serious, but the chemistry was undeniable. The honesty and passion we shared made us feel like we had known each other for years, while still seeming like everything was new and exciting.
Val’s perspective:
On the night we met, my first thought was that Kit was much taller than I expected! I loved his smile and sense of humor, and that we shared a love of the English language. I also loved that he was working with special needs adults – he was and still is amazing with Noah! Noah actually listens to Kit more than me! He is also a great role model to Matthew and Jake. Being a dad himself, to his daughter Liz, he understands that the kids always come first.
Kit’s perspective:
I was instantly taken with Val’s wit and vulnerability, not to mention being floored by her beauty in person (her pictures didn’t do her justice). Her commitment to her children as well as all of her family made her instantly attractive. Our personalities clicked immediately. I had never known someone that made me laugh as much as she does. I knew right away that I was in love. We found as days turned into months, we were more in sync all the time.
Twelve years later – after many adventures – and Val daring Kit to marry her, we decided to make it official at home on Christmas Eve, 2023!
We are looking forward to becoming Mr. and Mrs. Kelly, growing old-er together and enjoying our children (and maybe grandchildren someday!)
