Our Wedding

Story told by Klarissa: Nathan and I have known each other since we were teenagers. Growing up, we attended the same church with our families and through youth group, were involved in the same group of friends. We both crushed on each other at different times but never acted on our feelings. So we continued on with life, entering high school and then college - still only as friends. We always stayed in touch, even though he went to school at Southeastern University in Florida for two years. Dating him never seemed like a possibility. That is, until he decided to move back home to Michigan in May of 2011. Horizons looked bright in my perspective, we were in the same state again and neither of us was seeing anyone… This was finally our chance. Full disclosure: I thought we would be dating by that summer. However, he wasn't as responsive to my (apparently) too subtle of hints as I had presumed. Time began to move slower as I wondered if this was ever going to happen for us. But during that period, our friendship continued to grow and looking back now, I wouldn't trade that "limbo-time" for anything. It wasn't until the end of November that he asked me out. And on December 2, 2011, Nathan took me on our first date.
