Covid Safety
Everyone's safety is the highest priority. If you feel like the travel or attending the event poses a risk to you or any loved ones, we completely understand and simply want you to take care of yourself. Last minute cancelations or second thoughts are perfectly understandable and we will not take it personally. Our nearest and dearest are all invited to this event, so in order to protect all of us we expect everyone to be fully vaccinated if they are attending. However we would like to note that this does not include anyone who is prevented from obtaining the vaccine due to age or medical issue. If you have any concerns at all regarding this, please email us directly at kobiandbrett@gmail.com. That being said, the entire event is outdoors in covered areas, hopefully decreasing everyone's risk. On Friday you will enter the cocktail hour through the hotel lobby (again our area is outdoors). While you are in the lobby, which is also where the restrooms are located, you are expected to wear a mask. While it is not mandated by the hotel, we expect all of our guests to take this precaution to protect themselves and others and have informed the hotel of such. Extra masks will be provided both days in case anyone forgets or loses theirs.
Dress Code - What does casual cocktail mean?
Everyone can wear whatever they want to both the welcome cocktails on Friday and the wedding on Saturday. "Casual/cocktail" is just a suggestion. But really - whether you feel most comfortable in jeans, sequins, white dresses, or halloween costumes - that's totally fine by us! We love you all and we're so happy to have you join us! Whatever you wear will be exactly right. Just a note - the wedding venue has a lot of wooden docks as walkways, so we would caution everyone not to wear stilettos/spike heels.
Timing - Can I arrive late/leave early?
Absolutely! We want everyone to have their own best time, so please do what would make you most comfortable. Just please no drinking and driving!
Food - When will food be served?
For the wedding, we're planning for oysters around 5pm, dinner at 7pm, and dessert around 8pm.
Food - Will there be vegan/vegetarian options?
Yes! But please email us (kobiandbrett@gmail.com) if you or anyone in your party is vegan or vegetarian (and please specify which). While we have not yet worked out specifics with the catering, we promise to feed you and to label the food clearly.
Food - What about other dietary allergies?
Unfortunately, we're limited in what we are able to control with the food. But definitely let us know (kobiandbrett@gmail.com) about any food allergies you or anyone in your party have. We'll make every effort to keep you safe and comfortable.
What's the general vibe?
Well we're hoping it's going to be entertaining, relaxed, and a very good time! It's not going to be very traditional, which is likely not a surprise for most who know us. We are who we are, we like what we like, and we love you all.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
What's the booze situation?
The Welcome Cocktail Happy Hour on Friday is open bar. The wedding on Saturday is open bar.
What if there's a weather issue?
Rain is the most likely issue we would face at this time of year in Folly Beach. The majority of the venue is outdoor/indoor. It's covid safe while still being covered in case of rain. The only un-covered area is the short walk from one part of the venue to the other. So in case of rain, the venue will not change, but we will provide umbrellas to make life easier. If any other major weather events arise, you will definitely hear from us.
Is this kid friendly?
Definitely! We love your kids! Please include your children who are attending in your RSVP and/or email us (kobiandbrett@gmail.com) so we know to expect them.
What if I have other questions?
We have an email for that! Please email
kobiandbrett@gmail.com
with any other questions, changes to your RSVP, etc.
