Kolt and Rachael both went to Platte Valley High School in Kersey, CO. They had heard of each other but it wasn’t until the 2013 track season that they became friends. Competing in many of the same events the two trained together, played practical jokes on each other, and confided in one another. They were just supposed to be friends... but their hearts had other plans. From the beginning, Kolt told Rachael how good they would be together. Little did he know just how great they’d be together...

The first date: June 1, 2013. They went to see the movie “Now You See Me”. Isn’t there a saying that you shouldn’t kiss on a first date? Well who listens to that anyway.

Rachael went to the University of Northern Colorado for her first two years of college then transferred to Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. Kolt attended Western State Colorado University in Gunnison, CO. Through the years their love endured the stresses of college, a long distance relationship, college athletics, and all that life threw their way. Together they’ve witnesses each other’s highest of highs and lowest of lows.


Kolt is a Landman for Noble Energy in Greeley and Rachael is an ICU nurse at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton.

Miley & Cinch are Rachael and Kolt’s border collies they joined the family the summer of 2018. Rachael went to Rush, CO with the intent of bringing back one puppy but fell in love with two. These dogs have become a huge part of their life. The four of them love to work cattle together.

She said YES: September 29, 2019. Rachael was supposed to go watch the Broncos game with Kolt then go work the dogs on the cows. Well Rach didn’t make it back for the Broncos game she’d been busy running errands with her mom (Lori) which included getting their nails done ( HELLO BIG RED FLAG - but don’t worry Rach didn’t notice). Rachael finally gets to McDaniels ready to go work the dogs to find out that De (Kolt’s mom) was going to tag along to get pictures of the dogs and to learn some of the commands (ANOTHER red flag that Rach missed, it wasn’t unusual to video or take pictures of the dogs working).
As Kolt, Rachael, Miley, and Cinch are walking out toward the cows Kolt gets down on one knee, with the most beautiful diamond ring, and asks “Will you marry me?” YES!!!
