Long before they met, God was faithfully guiding each step.

In 2023, Michelle felt a deep desire to find a church home where she could grow, serve, and feel spiritually aligned. After being invited to visit First Covenant Church in Eureka, she began watching the services online. Week after week, she felt drawn in by the worship, the teaching, and the presence of a community rooted in faith.

In October 2023, she attended her first in-person service. From that day, she knew she had found the place she had been praying for. She began attending regularly— unaware that God was preparing something even more beautiful.On December 24th, 2023, after the service and in the Peterson House next door, Kolton & Michelle met for the first time. On a day that celebrates the greatest gift ever given, God quietly began writing their love story. What began as a simple introduction quickly grew into something intentional and steady. Their connection was grounded in shared faith, deep conversation, mutual respect, and a sincere desire to honor God in their relationship. Michelle was drawn to Kolton’s faith, warm smile, and unwavering character. Kolton admired Michelle’s grace, warmth, and kind heart. As they prayed about each other and got to know one another, it became clear that their relationship was divinely orchestrated.

Later down the road, on June 29th, 2025, below Kolton’s parents’ home in Salyer, California, he asked Michelle for her hand in marriage. She had no idea the proposal was coming, even though she often spoke of their future together.

In the same place where Michelle was baptized in 2024, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. She said yes, of course!

Now, on June 27th, 2026, they will stand before God and their loved ones to enter into the covenant of marriage on the same property where he proposed. With excitement, they look forward to a lifetime of loving one another, starting a family & building a home rooted in faith.
