At the beginning of August of 2023, Kyle shared that we would be attending the police ball together. I was so excited because it would be the first ball in the 3 years we had been dating that we would be going to. Kyle kept telling me to get my nails done for it, but I kept telling him no and that I would do it myself. My best friend and sister-in-law finally told me to get my nails done because I would regret not getting them done for the ball. So, I went with my sister-in-law, Claire, to get them done the day before! When I asked Kyle what we would be doing before the ball, he told me that we would be meeting up with some friends at Durst Winery so we could all get some drinks.

On August 26th, 2023, I got all dressed up and Ky even dressed up in a suit and tie for me! It was a few hours before we were going to leave, and I could tell he was super nervous.

As we arrived at Durst Winery, we pulled down the driveway and Ky stopped his truck in the most random spot. I walked with Ky to the front of the winery, and I suddenly saw candles on the pathway leading up to the front. As I walked around the corner, there was a sign that Kyle had made for me asking me to marry him! Ky walked me down the walkway and had me stop in a circle of sunflowers and candles. It was truly beautiful. He then got down on one knee and asked me to MARRY HIM! After he got up, Kyle gave me the biggest hug in the world, and all of our family and closest friends came out of the winery to surprise me.

I was overjoyed to be able to have all of my family there on one of the most special days of my life. My family and I celebrated our engagement the rest of the day and it was wonderful.
