Kyle and I met at Brinkmann Constructors’ new employee orientation in January of 2017. Shortly after orientation Kyle was sent out of town for work. We had very minimal conversations together until we decided to coordinate an engineer company float trip in August of 2018. As all float trips in Missouri, it was full of wholesome fun. During the float trip, Kyle found himself smitten enough to ask me to be his date for his sister’s wedding in September of 2018. Kyle ironically didn’t remember this the next day. Following the float trip, Kyle traveled back to Texas where he was working at the time. That was the last time I heard from Kyle for the next two months.

On Tuesday, October 2, 2018, I received a text message from Kyle at 4:30 pm asking if I wanted to get dinner together. I later found out he only asked me out because he didn’t have any food in his refrigerator. We had the best date EVER, starting with dinner and ending with closing down a bar at 1am.
Following this date we were pretty much inseparable. We were both ALL IN from that point forward.

We dated about 8 months before Kyle moved to Virginia and I moved into Kyle’s vacant house. At this point, we both had talked about the future and being together forever. We knew the distance was going to be hard but weren’t scared.

Kyle lived in Virginia for about 18 months before he moved home. I always thought the proposal was right around the corner but I think Kyle had bets with his friends on how long he was going to make me wait!

FINALLY, after 3.5 years of dating he made me the happiest woman in the world and asked me to Marry him! I started planning the wedding about 20 minutes later.

We are SO happy and can’t wait to celebrate our forever with all of our friends and family on 10.28.2023.
