Our Love Story

Our love story!

Yes it’s true….we met over the internet! No, it wasn’t the normal swipe right or left scenario on a dating app! Dan and I had mutual friends on Facebook and we had seen each others profiles once or twice and maybe peeked at each other’s profiles once or twice too haha! I remember I was at work one random day and received an inbox message that said “ hey, how are you!?”. I looked at it and thought oh he’s so handsome but closed my phone and thought maybe I’ll respond later. The dating world is scary and wasn’t sure how to proceed! But sure enough , later that evening we started to exchange messages, which led to him asking for my number for an easier way to communicate of course! ( hahah)

Our dating story started during Covid. So our options for a first date were limited! We sure made the best of it though. Our first date was at my house where we shared a couple Coronas and talked for hours (full disclosure I did most of the nervous talking and did not sit down for one moment)! Next date was at my house also but this time was dinner and more relaxed conversation. Our conversations felt so easy light and carefree like we had known each other for years! But, date number three is where our love story ACTUALLY started. Dan was going to come over for our first real day date outing! We were going to go shopping and lunch date! Dan said see you in 20! Nervously, I waited for him but he never showed up.

Unfortunately, hours later after selfishly thinking he stood me up I received worst news from Dan’s brother Ryan. He informed me that Dan had been in a head on collision on the way to my house and was rushed to the hospital and had to have two surgeries right away for broken elbow and broken foot/ankle amongst many other injuries. I guess he deserved a break for never showing up! I was so scared and so sad that this had happened. Unfortunately, because it was Covid there was no way for me to even visit him which broke my heart everyday that he was in the hospital. Ryan told me that Dan had asked him to call me. Now thinking back to that day we were only on date three. It meant the world to me that he thought about me enough to call to make sure I knew he didn’t not show up for me and that he wanted me to know what was going on and that he was going to be okay!

Since that day we were inseparable. We talked everyday and night! Anticipation grew everyday waiting for him to get sprung from the hospital to go see him! We had so much time to talk about deep meaningful things that created such a strong deep connection that has just grown stronger ever since! Each passing day grew more fun, interesting and exciting! As time passed, Dan healed and grew strong and healthy! I Thank God for that everyday.

We eventually moved in together and our house wasn’t just a house, but a home. A home full of love. He was my safe space, my home, my everything! Not to mention, he’s the best dog daddy there is! Our dog Benny boy is a handful and Dan is great with our boy! Their bond is unbreakable!

Fast forward to getting ready for an exciting trip to Arizona! We were both looking forward to our vacation very much ! Little did I know Daniel had something up his sleeve! March 19, 2023 was THE DAY! To me, it was a normal day! We were going on an adventure to the botanical gardens! We found the most beautiful backdrop and I asked for a picture of us! Anyone who really knows me knows I’m obsessed with great pictures and memories that I’ll never want to forget! So we take our picture and I turn around after the picture to see Dan down on one knee. My heart literally EXPLODED with happiness. Of course I said yes! The easiest decision I have ever made! My heart stopped searching for anything else the moment it found Dan ❤️

Dan and I knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with each other. When you know you want to spend the rest of your life with someone you want the rest of your life to start at soon as possible! We wanted to enjoy an intimate wedding ceremony with our immediate families! We had our wedding May 28, 2023 at the Craftsman Inn in Fayetteville, NY! It was perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Now as we look forward to celebrating our love and marriage with our friends and family we can’t contain our joy and happiness. Loving each other feels so natural and has been the easiest thing we’ve ever done. We are looking forward to getting married and being recognized under the eyes of God at St. Matthews Church followed by a beautiful reception at the Cannery in Vernon, NY.

We are beyond thankful that we’ve found each other ❤️ We feel so lucky and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together and create a beautiful family!
