Kyle and Kristen's story goes back to August of 2018 when Kyle and Kristen were both at the Ridge golf course watching the club championship. Austin and Reese Faber both thought it would be a good idea for us to date so later that night, Kyle messaged Kristen on snapchat asking her out on a date. Kristen declined and they decided to just be friends.

Fast forward to July 6, 2023 when Kristen got a text from Kyle asking if she would be interested in going on a date sometime. Kristen accepted and they decided to go on their first date July 12 after Kyle finished his round of golf league.

*Little backstory: Kyle is part of a golf league on Tuesday nights and they decided they were going to create a committee that summer called "Find Kyle a girlfriend." Side note, Kristen's dad and grandpa were a part of this committee as well. Thanks to Steve Mouw and Alicia Bowar, they gathered much information and Kristen's name was brought up.

On August 4, 2023, Kyle officially asked Kristen to be his girlfriend. They spent a few nights on the golf course even; yes, Kristen got a set of golf clubs! Throughout the next few months, they went on many dates including a trip to California in November.

On March 3, 2024, Kyle asked Kristen to go on a walk. After some complaining about the cold and wind, Kristen agreed to a "short walk" through the Dordt prairie. About halfway through, Kyle led Kristen off the path where Kyle had set up flowers and a sign. Kyle got down on one knee and asked Kristen to marry him and spend forever together. Kyle and Kristen are very excited for their big day and look forward to celebrating with their family and friends!
