We met in early 2018 while waiting in line at a smoothie shop on the UW-Eau Claire campus, where we both went to school. We had both joined a student organization called the Residence Hall Association at the beginning of freshman year – but never even spoke to each other until the spring semester. After Caleb ditched an event, Kristen messaged him for the first time to ask where he went on behalf of a mutual friend. We stayed in touch and watched a lot of movies together over the following months.

After one late movie night in April, Caleb asked "what are we?" and Kristen, who highly values her sleep and had already stayed up past her bedtime, replied "can we not do this right now?" Caleb barely slept that night, but later asked Kristen on a coffee date. Kristen, who was not a fan of coffee at this point in her life, suggested we go for a walk instead. On April 25, we went on our walk across campus and had our first kiss on the footbridge over the Chippewa River. It was a night we'll cherish forever.

Over the past 7 years, we have been through a lot together. There have been highs and lows, celebration and mourning, and times of ease and comfort as well as difficulty and worldwide struggle. We are so excited to start the rest of our lives together, and hope you will be there to celebrate it with us. Below are some of our favorite memories together.
