John and Kristen began their story meeting at a local sushi restaurant where John first learned that Kristen had, and still has, no idea how to use chopsticks. John and Kristen met in Raleigh in the summer of 2020 after John learned his first year of grad school would be online. After learning that they both had a dog named Charli(e) and a brother named Ryan, they both decided to give things a shot. Well I guess those were not the only reasons!

During their first year dating, John and Kristen did many things together. These included many play dates with the Charli(e)s, meeting each others families/friends, traveling, and ultimately forming a love story to last a lifetime.

After their first year together, John returned back to DC to finish his graduate degree at Georgetown while Kristen stayed in Raleigh. Many weekend trips were made back and forth, continuing to grow closer together. Upon graduation, John received a job offer that took him to Colorado where Kristen joined.

After purchasing a home together and the Charli(e)s becoming obsessed with each other, John decided to finally pop the question in Positano, Italy!

Spending over a year in Colorado, it’s safe to say we are lucky to call this place home. We can’t wait for our friends and families to experience our love for one another in a place that is special to us both! It’s safe to say we are looking forward to September 1, 2024!
