Breckenridge…our roots and affinity run deep...
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Kristen’s maternal grandfather was in the Air Force, and her Mom’s family was stationed in many places throughout the world while she was growing up. Kristen's grandparents embraced the adventures and lived by the “when in Rome” motto. When the family moved to Colorado Springs in 1976, their Colorado adventure began.
First up was learning to ski, and they quickly fell in love with the town of Breckenridge. In 1977, her grandparents purchased a condo, which provided a winter and summer gathering space for friends and family. Countless family memories were made in the first few years, including spending Christmas together in the mountains, Christmas Eve mass at St. Mary’s (the original church), Spring Break, 4th of July, etc. Even though they moved to St. Louis in 1981, they kept the condo as Breckenridge was already too special to give up.
Kristen’s mom, Julie, returned to Colorado for college and the condo provided her a “home away from home” including many memorable weekends throughout her college years.
KRISTEN.. THE EARLY YEARS
Kristen’s Breckenridge adventure began when she was only 3 months old! Her parents shared an affinity for Breck and when she was 4 they purchased the condo right next door to her grandparents. Before she learned to ski, she spent her summer vacations in the mountains…..hiking, biking, playing in the Blue River, swimming at the Rec Center, 4th of July, rock climbing camp, Carter Park, etc. Although her family situation changed, Breckenridge remained everyone’s “happy place” and Kristen and her brother, Mark spent time with both her Mom and her Dad, Chris there…..and then with both her new blended families when her parents remarried.
THROUGH THE YEARS
Kristen has enjoyed Breckenridge her entire life and it is synonymous with family, friendship, love and laughter. She is glad Sean has also embraced "Breck," and together they now share it with their friends as well. It’s a dream and a very natural location for her family and friends to gather for their wedding. Whether you have been to Breck before, or this is your first trip, Kristen and Sean hope that you also enjoy the town’s magic.
