Our Wedding

Kyle and Kristen both attended Penn State University, however never knew each other during their undergraduate years. It is speculated, that their paths may have crossed during fraternity parties at TKE, a fraternity Kyle was a part of and one that Kristen occasionally partied at. After graduating, Kyle and Kristen both moved to various cities. Kristen to Slippery Rock, PA for graduate school and then to Dayton, OH for her first job as a Physical Therapist. Kyle moved all over for his career in hotel development including Milwaukee, Baltimore, Atlanta, and New Canaan, CT. During the pandemic, however, both of them found themselves moving back to Happy Valley. Kristen transferred locations with her company and Kyle moved back to start his MBA with Penn State. During the fall of 2022, Kristen was scrolling Bumble and came across a handsome guy named Kyle. Kristen, being terrible with technology, didn't realize that after you "like" someone's profile on Bumble, the girl only has 24 hours to message the guy first or else the match expires. Unfortunately, the match expired. As Kristen describes the story nowadays, "whoops, my bad". And she moved onto the next dating app...Hinge. As luck should have it, one day Kristen gets a message on Hinge from that same guy Kyle she found on Bumble. Kyle, having splurged $25 on Hinge premium, had in fact sent Kristen the highest compliment possible on Hinge... a "rose". He commented on a prompt Kristen had in her profile, and conversation started from there. The following week, the two went on their first date to a local cocktail bar in State College. Before meeting up for their first date, however, Kyle texted Kristen, "Hey I am running late, can we push back the time 15 mins?". Kristen was also running late for this date, and realized at that moment that this guy could be a perfect match for her. Flash forward to December 27th, 2024: Kyle and Kristen returned to this same cocktail bar that they had their first date at but this time wearing their wedding attire. They married during a small, intimate ceremony with their immediate families at the Nittany Lion Inn. It was such a special and unforgettable day for the both of them. Kyle and Kristen are so excited to celebrate their marriage with all their family and friends at their reception this March!
