About Us

Kristi Hockenson

Kristi, short for Kristian, was born on April 27, 1991 – the fifth and youngest child of Alan and Cassandra Hockenson. When she was caught doing her older sister Lauren's math homework before she ever set foot in grade school, everyone knew she had a passion and talent for mathematics. But, she also knew that she wanted to make a difference in the lives of others, which drove her to pursue a career in Bioengineering. Throughout college, Kristi juggled several retail jobs, including Nordstrom 40 hours per week her Senior year and, somehow, still managed to graduate from Santa Clara in Spring 2012 with a 1st place Senior Design Award and a patent. She entered the Silicon Valley medical device industry and is now an Engineer at Stryker Endoscopy in San Jose. In her off-time, Kristi enjoys exploring new places and trying new things with Danny, attending work out classes with some of her best friends, cooking and trying new recipes, and pursuing various arts and crafts. She cannot wait to marry Danny, and spend the rest of her life exploring new places with him!

Danny Silva

Danny was born on February 24, 1988 – the first born son of his mother, Lori Chapman, and his father, Chuck Silva. Danny is lucky to have two sets of parents who are different in their own ways but all amazing... shout out to you Rob Chapman and Sally Silva! Danny has three younger siblings, who are all in the bridal party (his brothers as his best men). While he loved to antagonize his siblings when they were little, they all know he would do anything for any of them. The bonds each of them share are unbreakable!Danny studied Finance at Santa Clara University, where he spent his college career teaching himself how to bartend and DJ and worked at the popular college bars different nights of the week. He is hungry to learn new things, explore new opportunities, and embrace all life has to offer. Danny entered into the thriving Bay Area tech industry and is now a Sales Executive at Kespry, selling commercial drones.In his off-time, Danny enjoys golfing, camping, traveling, hockey, snowboarding, and exploring new places with Kristi. Danny is excited to tie the knot with the love of his life in May!

At Santa Clara University, all off-campus houses have their own names. One night when Kristi was a freshman (Danny a Junior), her and her girlfriends heard, "Party at Soccer house!". After some asking around, they found out which house this was on the block. What they didn't know was that there was a back house (garage turned into a 3 bedroom) where the party was being held. That night, Kristi and her girlfriends stumbled into the front door of Soccer (not the back house) and were surprised to find an empty house. They stood there stunned until they heard someone running down the stairs. It was Danny. Instead of questioning or kicking out the girls, he asks, "Would you guys like some tequila shots?" After that, Danny and Kristi always smiled to each other and would say "hi" in passing at school. The following year, Danny asked Kristi to "re-create the night they met" and invited her over for a tequila pre-game. And that is how it all began.

Mission San Juan Bautista was founded on June 24, 1797 by Fermín Lasuén of the Franciscan order, the mission was the fifteenth and largest of the Spanish missions established in present-day California. Named for Saint John the Baptist, the mission is the namesake of the city of San Juan Bautista. Barracks for the soldiers, a nunnery, the Jose Castro House, and other buildings were constructed around a large grassy plaza in front of the church and can be seen today in their original form.
