An Engagement Story, as told by Kristie:
He proposed at the Grand Floridian in front of the wedding Chapel. It was my birthday. I had no idea, whatsoever. Yes, in the video, I am saying “Are you serious? Are you sure?” And he is smiling and saying Yes, and Yes. You all guessed right. LOLOL! He went so above and beyond. My besties were there. Hiding in the bushes, and all my kids. He knew that in my heart, I would want them there. They are still my babies- even the grown ones.
After that surprise… we are to go to dinner with my besties. Tamara drove all the way from Tennessee for it, so we were gonna monopolize that time. I walk in, and this man had orchestrated a surprise birthday party for me, too! Y’all. This is going to be my husband! I am a lucky girl.
We have been through a lot. Separately and together. Something about being our age and finding love, you have to realize that your own individual pasts only made you both who you are today: two people who are ready to start a new life together. And being able to see the beauty in the pain, can really personally help heal your whole soul. He has fixed my heart, that was so very damaged and sad.
And Jeff, my fiancé’, you have made me feel like a complete and total princess. Thank you for loving me the way you do, and always making sure I am taken care of. I am so honored you asked me, and I feel so undeserving of you everyday.
So now, I ask each and everyone of you, to keep us in your thoughts and prayers, while we begin to plan a wedding to celebrate a new life together! (Jeff might need the brunt of those, he can tell ya, I can be a lot. LOL!)
And to everyone who came and celebrated us- thank you so much. I still am crying. You have no idea how much it meant to me. I have never felt so loved and important - and each of you had a hand in that. I love you all!
