Our Wedding

We officially met in November 2018 at a Halloween gala in São Paulo. We only started to get to know one another in February 2019 after Rodrigo responded to one of Kristin's IG stories about a webinar for parents of autistic children. He thought she was an American working for a non-profit organization in Brazil and offered to volunteer. Of course, that wasn't an option because Kristin wasn't working for a non-profit or volunteer based clinic. The two continued to exchange messages on Instagram until Rodrigo mentioned he worked on Paulista Avenue. Kristin quickly responded that she lived off of Paulista Avenue. Rodrigo then asked if she wanted to go out for some juice one day. Kristin's mother was arriving the next day to visit her in Brazil, so we planned our first date two weeks later at Rodrigo's favorite juice spot. We didn't know it then, but ever since that first date, we would be spending the rest of our lives together.

Prerna and Kristin became friends in 1999! We met in girl scouts and bonded over camping trips, sleepovers, and traveling to Disney together. Prerna has always been there for me, and she's truly someone I could always count on. About Prerna- She has always been passionate about self-care, well being, and theatre too. We both always loved living in NYC, although she has a lot more experience as a New Yorker than I do! She is now a yoga and meditation teacher in NYC. Prerna is like a sister to me. <3

We (especially Kristin) highly recommend that you take time to visit Rio de Janeiro while in the country. Rio is Kristin's most favorite city in the whole world, and she would love for you to see all the beauty it has to offer. We recommend Kristin's godfather, Marcio Guedes, who is a certified tour guide to show you around. He is notorious for showing all of the main points in a single day, or even extending the tour to two days and seeing a little more than the "main attractions". Kristin has done the helicopter ride around Rio once as a child and has never forgotten it. She plans to go a second time with Rodrigo. &lt;3 Things to do in Rio: See the Sugarloaf mountain, easily hike halfway up (45 minutes on Urca mountain), the view of Santa Teresa (go to a swanky hotel there or have dinner during sunset at the restaurant Aprazivel). Have a traditional BBQ lunch at Rodrigo's favorite spot in Rio- Brazero da Gavea. Hike up the Two Brothers Mountain (need a guide for this), Urca, or Pedra Bonita (Beautiful Rock) mountain. Go hang-gliding or parachuting off Pedra Bonita, take a boat and have drinks that departs from the marina, Marina da Gloria, and don't forget to go to the beach in Ipanema. In Ipanema, check out the sunset. Go to Apoador (rocky area at the end of the beach), and shop around this area of the city. These are just some of the many things we love about Rio! On Sundays, the street along the beach is closed for pedestrians, and there is a fair called the Hippy Fair in Ipanema. It is easy to find! Remember to stay safe and keep your phone or expensive jewelry put away (no walking and texting or looking at the map) while you are out and about.

We have organized transportation between this hotel and the venue for all events. If you prefer to stay in a hotel in the city of São Paulo, it will be easy and reasonable in price to get an Uber to the venue, but may be difficult to get an Uber back to SP. The venue is closest to the São Paulo International Airport (GRU). This is a 35 minute drive without traffic, and during non-peak times, an Uber to or from this airport would be about USD $11.00 (BRL $57.00.) If you are coming from Congonhas Airport (CGH), the local airport in SP, it is a 1 h 20 minute drive. That is about USD $20 or 110 Reais.
