Kristin and Connor met their freshman year at Appalachian State, just past the height of COVID. Connor was chillin in the student union with a mutual friend when Kristin walked in and was quickly waved over. What was their topic of conversation you might ask? It was marching band. Both having been band members in high school, they dove into conversation to find when their paths may have crossed before.

Obviously, it did not stop there. Their friendship continued to grow over the next two and a half years. These included many fun adventures with all of their friends on beach trips, Saturday hikes, weekend cabin vacations, and many Sundays at Alliance Bible Fellowship. Then in their junior year of school, Connor asked Kristin out to coffee. Later Kristin found out that Connor doesn't even like coffee that much, so that must have been a ploy to go on a date ;). However, Kristin loves coffee, so the date was a hit, and more followed (both coffee and dates).

It was the beginning of their senior year during one of their playful conversations about weddings took a more serious turn when they realized the person they wanted to marry was right in front of them. Kristin remembered back to when Connor had pinky-promised that he would never leave her shortly after they started dating.

A few months later Connor told Kristin to keep January 5th - 7th free so they could go up to his family's cabin. There, Connor's dad offered to take nice couple photos for them. January 6th was a cold Saturday when they went out on the property, taking pictures in the pastures. After finally settling at the pond, Connor suggested they try one more pose in which he took a step back and got on one knee. After this happened, Kristin proceeded to black out until Connor stood back up. The only thing running through her head was "YES!"
