OUR STORY

I had just turned the big 3-0 and decided to celebrate in Philly with some friends. While sipping on some tasty Margaritas, I found myself highly entertained by Caitlin McKinney's Tinder app. A few weeks passed by and I finally mustered up the courage to enter the online dating world (my nieces were mortified that I joined Tinder). So here I was, beginning of October 2014 in my parents' sunroom swiping away. As I sifted through the prospects, I asked myself, who do I really want to get to know? I kept coming back to Robert with the hilarious profile-food, 6' tall, crazy cats and Eagles. With the "I think he's cute" blessing from my Mom, I did something that I never did before...I made the first move! Since I spent a significant amount of my childhood at the football field, I knew that "Tinder Rob" would be quite impressed with my football knowledge. My pick up line, "So are you a Foles fan or not?" clearly worked wonders. On Wednesday, October 22, sixteen days after our first chat, Tinder Rob and I went on our first date. Rob picked Mad Mex since he remembered me saying that I liked Margaritas (a man who listens, sign me up). Rob cut right to the chase and ordered wings to test my eating habits. I don't know if it was the way that I chowed down on the wings or my charming personality but we talked endlessly and even shut the place down. In the pouring rain, I gave Tinder Rob a hug but secretly just wanted to get into the car before my mascara ran all over my face. When I got home that evening, my brother Brian asked about the date. The first thing out of my mouth was that I couldn't find anything wrong with him and that I should go out with him again. At that very moment, Rob texted me asking if I got home ok and that he had a great time. This very small act showed his maturity, caring nature and his interest. He immediately asked me out again and one week later we went to Margaret Kuo's in Media. We shared our first kiss in the parking garage-how romantic. One week after that, Rob wowed me with his cooking skills and furry babies, Cotto and Kimber. The rest is history! They say that Tinder is how people meet. I say that Tinder is how I met my best friend and love of my life.

OUR ENGAGEMENT

I was once asked what my perfect engagement looked like and I didn't have the answer. I now have the answer. I knew very early on that Rob was the one for me. My wedding loving, impatient self couldn't wait for Rob to pop the question. It was Saturday, August 27th and we were down the shore in one of my favorite places, Avalon, NJ. We spent the day soaking up the rays on the bay and had plans to meet our friends for happy hour at the Whitebrier. Before happy hour, we decided to take pictures on the dock since it was a picture perfect day. My Mom agreed to take the photos but I asked my brother Brian to come down too just in case Rob had something up his sleeve (I didn't really think it was going to happen). As we walked outside, my niece Lexie and her friend Griffin walked up (unplanned). We headed to the end of the dock and had our picture taken. Rob suggested that we move to the wider part of the dock because of the nice background. After more pictures were snapped, I started to walk away. Rob (who absolutely can't stand taking pictures) grabbed my hand and said, "Let's take one more picture." He got down on one knee and said, "Will you marry me? I love you." I completely froze and just couldn't believe how beautiful the ring was. It was so pretty that I didn't even want to touch it. I cried, hugged Rob and apparently said "Yes" although I don't remember answering him. As I squeezed him, he squeezed the box and just wanted me to put the ring on my finger before it ended up in the bay. Lexie and Brian captured the moment on video and provided solid sound effects as well haha! Needless to say, Rob surprised everyone. My Mom whipped out the champagne and then we spread the exciting news to family and friends. When we went to happy hour, Rob introduced me as his fiancé and the crowd went wild! We spent the evening celebrating at the Whitebrier, Circle Pizza and the Princeton.

After we met online, it wasn't long before I knew that I found my perfect match. After I received my detailed instructions with a few scenario based ideas and visual aids, the only thing left was to try and make it a surprise. I know how much she likes the shore and decided on the weekend (this is where my planning stopped). I got the ring out of its secret hiding spot (in one of our ceiling tiles), buried it in my bag and we took off down the shore. As we drove, we started talking about our plans for the weekend. We decided to meet Tom, Mallory, DC and DMac at the Whitebrier. Knowing that I was in store for a photo shoot before we headed out that night, I decided out on the dock of the bay would be the perfect place. After a relaxing day, we both got ready and on cue, Kristin asked to get pictures. I smiled and said, "Fine, one picture. " As we walked outside, Kristin's niece and her friend stopped by for a visit. Now with even more people, we walked out to the edge of the dock and I quickly realized how narrow it was near the edge. I pictured both of us falling in or the ring dropping. I looked around trying to find an excuse to move the picture spot without raising any red flags. I saw the bridge and thought perfect reason to get to a safer part of the dock. I asked for one more picture and then dropped to a knee. Was it a master plan, dumb luck or fate? I'm not sure, I just know that just like everything else, it was perfect.

Details

Elisa is Kristin's only sister and someone she's always looked up to. As a little girl, Kristin just wanted to be around "Sah" and not much has changed. You will most likely find them laughing, kayaking, having road rage or saying the same things with similar facial expressions. Elisa has raised two beautiful daughters Lexie and Kayla and positively impacts all the students she works with in Bensalem.

Mary is one of Kristin's oldest and dearest friends. Mary moved from Kentucky in third grade and from the moment they met, they just clicked. They spent their days watching Radnor Football, Villanova Basketball, playing sports, spying, and even produced their own radio show KFH and MED Radio 900. Mary played field hockey at Boston College and is the proud Mother of Grace!

Nicole is the little sister that Kristin never had. There isn't a day that passes where Nicole and Kristin don't talk. They played endless sports together, loved to battle and are quite the tomboys. Erin Andrews and Sam Ponder better watch out! Kristin gets a kick out of Nicole's ability to talk to anyone and that she is pokey. Nicole played lacrosse at Temple and is now busy setting records in sales for ADP (Rob's rival company!)

Christina is Kristin's partner in crime. They met as freshmen in high school during field hockey pre-season and were attached at the hip. They are best known for creeping around, having too many inside jokes, getting over served and dominating on the field hockey field. Christina attended Temple University and teaches at St. Katharine's. She is also the head field hockey coach at Carroll.

 Kristen coached lacrosse at Delaware with Kristin for three years and they became best buds. They were roommates, shared an office and did almost everything together starting with morning coffee! They are also the founding members of Club Kristien. Kristen played lacrosse at UNC and is an assistant coach at Stanford. She is a gold medalist member of the US lacrosse team and plays professionally.

We have a block of rooms on Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th. You can book online or by calling the hotel. If you call the hotel to make the reservation, you must tell them it is for the Hopson-Addis wedding to get the discounted rate of $199/night. Please make your reservation ASAP. In order to get the discounted rate, reservations must be made by July 12, 2017. FYI: The reception and after party are both connected to the hotel!
