Our venue is located about 35 minutes from the heart of Washington D.C. We invite you to take advantage of the holiday weekend and do some sight seeing and celebrating in the district! Most museums and tours are free and the Metro makes getting around very convenient. There are also annual Labor Day celebrations and a parade.

Our venue is in Occoquan Regional Park which is also home to batting cages (where the groomsmen will likely be the morning of the wedding...), boats and kayaks for rental, and many biking and walking trails along the beautiful Occoquan River.

Want to enjoy the DC area but avoid the Labor Day crowds? Old Town Alexandria is 25 minutes from our venue and is home to historic cobblestone streets and beautiful homes, endless shopping, fantastic restaurants, and a stunning waterfront and pier. It's one of our favorite areas that we love to frequent as well as where we took our engagement photos!

Any list of things to do in Virginia would not be complete without Shenandoah National Park, our favorite place to hike and get away. Shenandoah is so important to both of us that we spent our engagement weekend hiking here! Not much of an outdoorsy person or just short on time? Route your commute along Skyline Drive and enjoy the stunning mountain views--it's a MUST!

Virginia has an impressive wine region with multiple award-winning vineyards and wine touring is something we love to do! (Who doesn't??!) Ask Kristin or Jonathan for details as the list of places to go is a long one!
