Rich and Kristin’s first date was in February 2020 at Marymoor Dog Park with their pups, Frank and Beau. While their dogs—affectionately referred to as Dale and Brennan—perfected the art of not getting along, Rich and Kristin couldn’t stop talking. That first walk through the park sparked something special and their love has grown over the last 5 years.

Kristin thought Rich was tall, kind, loud, and funny. Rich thought Kristin was cute, quiet, and a great listener. Their differences balanced each other perfectly—though Kristin’s definition of “on time” took some getting used to. On their second date, she showed up 30 minutes late. Rich thought he was toast, but instead, he just learned an important lesson: always tell Kristin the reservation is 30 minutes earlier than it actually is.

Shortly after they met, COVID changed the world—and their dating life. With restaurants and events off the table, their date nights became home-cooked meals (courtesy of Rich), wine nights, game nights with friends, and socially distanced bar hangouts, masks and all. Over time, their love grew, and even Frank and Beau eventually realized their humans weren’t going anywhere.

Through every milestone, they’ve been each other’s biggest supporters. Kristin stood by Rich’s side as he pursued promotions at Stryker, and when Kristin decided to start a coffee truck, Rich was all in—helping with logistics, cheering her on, and, of course, doing plenty of taste-testing.

In 2024, on the rooftop of their Airbnb in Ireland, Rich asked Kristin to marry him. She said yes (obviously), and now they can’t wait to celebrate their next big adventure with all of you!
