Alex and Kristin both grew up in Austin, Texas. Although they attended different high schools, in their Senior year they ended up being in the same friend group. Alex spotted Kristin at a party once and remembers thinking, "there was a really pretty tall blonde girl in the kitchen" he wanted to meet, but Kristin didn’t see him at the time. It wasn't until two years after Alex first spied Kristin in the kitchen that they officially met on an outing on Alex's parents' boat. Kristin recalls that she thought Alex was “pretty cute" and they soon became close friends. They continued to see each other around throughout their college years at get-togethers and parties and became confidantes. From the beginning, even when they were "just friends," they both knew deep down that the other was “The One.”

One Thanksgiving break, while Alex was home from college, they took a walk at Commons Ford park on Lake Austin. Alex found himself so nervous that he climbed up a tree! They spent the entire day laughing over the most random things and marveling at how easy it was to be together.

On January 21, 2024, Alex proposed to Kristin in Telluride, Colorado, during a ski trip he planned with both of their families and a few close friends. Kristin had a hunch the proposal might happen on this trip when her best friend kept offering to do her hair and makeup. After their friends had headed back to their hotels for the evening (early morning actually) Alex invited Kristin out onto the balcony of their vacation house, where she found him down on one knee in the moonlight. Of course, she said YES!

Some of their fondest memories include spending time with their incredible friends and family, traveling together, and especially their first trip to Spain. Both Alex and Kristin look forward to building a family of their own and making their home in Austin.
