Our wedding is on APG -&nbsp;an active military base. This means you must come through the main gate and check in before you are allowed on base. You must bring a driver's license or government issued ID with you to get on base. Upon pulling up to the gate, you will need to tell the guard you are attending the wedding at the Top of the Bay and present your ID. Please check the directions section for how to get to the venue. Our Story - By Sam

Kristina and I spent most of our lives just a few miles apart, our paths running parallel without ever crossing. By pure chance, fate finally stepped in—and we fell in love. My family moved to Forest Hill in 2000, and I started at Forest Hill Elementary that same year. Kristina arrived two years later and enrolled in the very same school. Despite having mutual friends—and even playing together in the school band (I played trumpet, she played clarinet)—we never officially met. The pattern continued in middle school. We both attended North Harford, still shared friends, still played in the band, but somehow never connected. In high school, we went our separate ways—but again, unknowingly ended up in the same place, attending Harford Community College at the same time. For years, we lived just five minutes apart. Our lives were quietly woven together, always near but never touching. Then, in December 2015, everything changed. I walked into the Redner’s in Forest Hill, and the cashier who waved me over took my breath away. She was small, radiant, and looked far too young—like she might still be in high school. I was instantly struck, but assumed she was out of reach. Still, I tried to muster the courage to say something, anything, clever. Before I could, my card got declined.

I handed her some cash and asked her to try my card again. Declined&#8212;again. I stepped aside, completely defeated. My one shot at making an impression on this beautiful girl? Blown. My confidence? Shattered. I sheepishly called my dad and asked if he could come by and pay for the groceries. Ten agonizing minutes later, he arrived. And the first thing out of his mouth? "Ah, so this is why you needed me to pay&#8212;you just wanted more time with the pretty girl!" I died a little inside. There was no way this stunning girl would ever want to talk to someone like me&#8212;a broke loser who couldn&#8217;t even pay for his groceries.
 
A few months later, I got a job at the same Redner&#8217;s, working in the deli. Sure, I needed the money&#8212;but if I&#8217;m honest, I mostly wanted to be near the mystery cashier. After a few weeks, we finally introduced ourselves. Just names at first, small talk in passing. But soon, we found ourselves crossing paths more and more&#8212;especially in the break room. I&#8217;d be eating lunch; she&#8217;d stay after her shift just to talk. I tried, more than once, to ask Kristina for her number. Each time, I chickened out. Every. Single. Time. Eventually she gets the courage and asks me for my number.
 
Fast forward to June 3rd, 2016: our first date, at TGI Fridays. I knew right then&#8212;she was the one. She was beautiful, sharp, hilarious, and way smarter than me. I was completely smitten. During our date, a little girl in the booth behind us kept peeking over the seat. "What are you doinggg?" she asked. "We're on a date!" Kristina answered, laughing. The girl giggled and ducked down, only to pop back up five minutes later. "What are you doinggg now?" "We're still on a date!" This went on for twenty minutes, and somehow made the moment even more perfect.
 
That afternoon, we opened up to each other. We talked deeply, freely, like we had known each other for years. And when I walked Kristina to her car, I asked for our first kiss, and got it. It felt like time stopped. It took my breath away.

Over the past nine years, Kristina and I have built a bond that feels unbreakable. Together, we’ve shared moments of deep joy and weathered seasons of heartbreak. Through some of the hardest chapters of my life, I leaned on her, and was met with nothing but unwavering love, quiet strength, and compassion without judgment. When her world felt heavy, I gave everything I had. Every ounce of love, every bit of strength, and without hesitation. We’ve held each other up when life tried to knock us down. Our lives are no longer just connected—they’re woven tightly together. Twisted and knotted by time, love, and everything in between. So tightly, in fact, that we no longer fear the thread ever coming loose.

Our venue is located on Aberdeen Proving Grounds, an active military base. Due to the location, all guests will be expected to follow APG's protocols. The base will perform a basic background check on every guest that is invited; so make sure you RSPV as soon as you can! Below is the easiest route you should take to get on base.

Most people will use their GPS to get to the venue. However, please go through the main gate to be checked in. The main gate is located right by the APG North Visitor Control Center off of MD-715. When you get to the gate, the guard will ask you to identify yourself and your purpose for being there. State your name and let them know that you are a guest for the Kristina Domonkos and Sam Raborg wedding at Top of The Bay. They will check your name off of the list and they should wave you through.
