Our Wedding

It all started with a simple post Kristi made on the Facebook Anjunafamily music fan page, that she was planning to attend a show at Exchange LA headlined by Grum, Jody Wisternoff, and Matt Lange on April 14th, 2018. She had just completed her post-baccalaureate program through Utah State University and wanted to celebrate, but most of her friends were not available to come along to the show. So Kristi posted in the fan page that she was attending, but wanted to find Anjunafamily friends to meet up with there, and John responded. She checked out his profile, noticed that he lived in north OC, liked what she saw, and private messaged him; they exchanged phone numbers, and John met Kristi in the foyer upstairs at the venue. John introduced Kristi to his friends, bought her a drink like a true gentleman, and made her feel welcomed and put her anxieties at ease, assuring her that she was never alone when at an Anjuna sponsored show. At the end of the night, he and his friend walked her to her car where they realized that not only do they both own Mazda's, but they also both have identical Anjuna stickers on the rear windows of their cars. Kristi gave John a kiss, thanked him for allowing her to feel so safe and respected upon meeting at the show, then John asked Kristi to go on a date the very next weekend where he picked her up, took her to Golden Road Brewery in Anaheim, CA, then drove to Downtown Disney to play a game of bowling at the Disney themed bowling alley there. A few months went by where John and Kristi casually dated and met each other's friends. They did not become exclusive until that following June in 2018 after the Anjunabeach event that Above &amp; Beyond put on, on the beach in Huntington Beach. 7+ years later, their relationship has blossomed past so much more than just the music that brought them together, culminating into this beautiful day that we are all celebrating together!

How it all started...

Our Story

Bring your dancing shoes! We will be showcasing a curated DJ set by our amazing friend and fellow Anjuna Family member, Victor Guiseppe, who will be taking us on a journey through various sub genres of electronic dance music, with an emphasis of Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep hits! This DJ set will start upon the beginning of our Cocktail hour which will begin promptly following our wedding ceremony, starting with mellow, ambient, and melodic deep house. As the evening progresses, so will the BPM's! ;) This wedding reception may be like no other wedding reception you have ever been to before. The DJ will be given a strict song playlist to play from so please respect his work and do not ask him for song requests. We will have typical wedding reception moments like first dances, Father and Bride dance, cake cutting, as well as the garter and bouquet tossing.We will give special microphone privileges to those who request to make speeches and toasts beforehand, but if this is not communicated within 30 days prior to the event, we may not have the time.Our main desire for our wedding reception is to have our friends and family celebrate with us as we dance to the kind of music that we initially connected through and live presently in the moment together with us!Children are allowed to participate; however, it is up to the parents to decide whether they want their children to be part of these festivities as it will go well past midnight. It's safe to say that after 10:30pm, the reception may begin to morph into what some may call a "rave" due to the kind of music that will be played: house, techno, and trance music.

Q: What time should I arrive?A: We are asking guests to arrive by 5:30pm; the ceremony starts promptly at 6pm and should conclude at 6:30pm, upon which the cocktail hour will begin. Q: Where should I park?A: Wedding guests will have a dedicated valet service; this will be to the rear of the Waterfront Hotel. If driving down Pacific View Ave behind the hotel heading north, you will see the primary lobby valet; drive just past this to a secondary valet entrance, which will get you closer to the ceremony site and offer you discounted valet service. From there, just head upstairs and down the hallway, the ceremony will be outside on the lawn to the right at the end of the hallway. If you turn right and see the Cabo Wabo Restauarant, you've gone too far!
