Our Wedding

Danny and Kristina&nbsp;met in Chicago in March of&nbsp;2010,&nbsp;at a mutual friend's birthday party. Kristina was a Badger from Minneapolis and&nbsp;Danny was a Gopher from Madison, so they immediately shared a&nbsp;mutual&nbsp;understanding&nbsp;and admiration for each other (along with some&nbsp;friendly competition!).

It took a couple years as friends before either of them considered dating the other, but in the second half of 2012, they were spending more time together than apart. Their friendship was easy;&nbsp;he&nbsp;made her giggle, she made&nbsp;his heart smile. Despite&nbsp;their best&nbsp;efforts to remain "just friends," they&nbsp;began to fall in love, and&nbsp;never stopped...

















Danny and Kristina have lived&nbsp;together in Old Town Chicago for nearly four years, and have stuck by each other through good times and bad. They've been talking about tying the knot for years&nbsp;and rather than go the conventional route, one Sunday afternoon after Valentine's Day&nbsp;they just decided to plan a wedding celebration vacation. Then, on March 22nd, the night before KK&nbsp;left for her shower and bachelorette in Minneapolis, Danny surprised her and got down on one knee&nbsp;with a gorgeous ring and sweet&nbsp;proposal.&nbsp;





Needless to say, they&nbsp;are eager to get this party started!

And the rest is history

Thank you to each and every one of you for being such important people in our lives. You mean the world to us as individuals and as a couple, and you are a huge part of what makes us us. Without you, this special day&nbsp; would not be possible.&nbsp;Thank you for your unwavering&nbsp;love and support now and always.

When we envision&nbsp;our wedding we see&nbsp;the people we love together on an island for a big ol'&nbsp;beach party!&nbsp;







We fully realize that this Boyle beach bash&nbsp;came out of nowhere, and is very short notice for a destination wedding, so please do not feel obligated to make the trip.&nbsp;If the stars do not align and you aren't able to make it, don't worry about it! We will plan to celebrate with you&nbsp;this summer :)







For those who&nbsp;can make it,&nbsp;we are so excited to have a carefree, fun-filled, celebration vacation with you! It means the world to have you there with us as we say our vows,&nbsp;seal the deal, and become the Boyles.

Travel Dates

The bride and groom will arrive on Friday, 5/4, and depart for some alone time on Thursday, 5/10. All are welcome to stay as short or long as they would like! We are thrilled to have each and every one of you who are able to make it, so please do whatever works best for you.

Footwear

We're&nbsp;getting married on the beach!&nbsp;All beaches in the Keys&nbsp;are manmade and&nbsp;sand is pretty shallow, but unless you've got the&nbsp;ankle /&nbsp;calf strength of a ballerina, you might be more comfortable in chunky heels, wedges, or low/flat sandals.&nbsp;

Anna and Kristina&nbsp;met in first grade when Kristina was a bus patrol and&nbsp;Anna was goofing off in the back seat. They&nbsp;grew up 2 blocks from each other and danced together at the local dance studio until 8th grade. They&nbsp;were cheerleaders together in high school, started the Jefferson Performance Team their&nbsp;senior year&nbsp;(along with Kelsey (Johnson) Hoffman), and have stuck by each other through all the ups and downs of&nbsp;adulthood. Anna is the sister Kristina never had and is the person she turns to in happy and sad times alike. When Anna married the love of her life, Matt Kukla, Kristina was her Maid of Honor. Anna and Matt have two adorable boys, Gabe and Gunnar, and Kristina is Gunnar's Godmother.

Tone is Danny's brother. Tone is 5 years younger than Danny and spent most of his childhood being picked on and pushed around&nbsp;by Danny. With a basketball coach for a father, both Tone and Danny grew up sharing a deep love for basketball. Tone went on to play for the University of&nbsp;Milwaukee Panthers, and today is the Assistant Coach at Eastern Illinois University (also the Panthers!). After they grew out of the brotherly brawls of their formative years, their relationship transformed into a true&nbsp;friendship. They've supported&nbsp;each other (and John (dad) and Haley (sister)) through the long, devastating battle against their mother's early onset Alzheimer's disease, and are closer today than ever.

Tone Boyle

Katie is a very special friend of both the bride and the groom, which is why they've asked her to officiate their wedding. Katie and Kristina were on the University of Wisconsin Dance Team together and have remained dear friends ever since. Danny and Katie met in Chicago in 2009 and became fast friends;&nbsp;Danny affectionately refers to Katie as his step-sister. Katie encouraged Danny and Kristina to get to know each other because she sensed their would be some chemistry... It took some time to develop, but in the end she was absolutely&nbsp;right.&nbsp;Throughout their relationship, Kristina and Danny rely on Katie as a supportive&nbsp;ear to listen, and a caring&nbsp;friend to offer heartfelt advice. KK and DB are&nbsp;thrilled and grateful&nbsp;that she's agreed to play this very important role at their wedding, and in their lives.

The closest airport is Miami International Airport (MIA)&nbsp;and the hotel is about an hour drive from there (58&nbsp;miles). Fort Lauderdale airport (FLL) is about 1.5 hours from Key Largo. GETTING&nbsp;AROUND:We will be renting a car, and would suggest you do the same if you plan to move about the island while you're here. Please note: parking is $15 per night.&nbsp;&nbsp;Otherwise Lyft/Uber is about $70 from MIA, and about $100 from FLL.&nbsp;&nbsp;If you decide to fly into&nbsp;Fort Lauderdale (FLL) plan on adding about 30-45 min to the&nbsp;drive, depending on traffic.We encourage you to connect with other wedding guests to share rental cars and/or&nbsp;coordinate rides to and from the airport.There is only one main road in the Keys, the Overseas Hwy (US Hwy 1). Locals refer to locations by referencing their Mile Marker along Overseas Hwy. &nbsp;MM 0 is Key West and the Jew Fish Creek Bridge on the north end of Key Largo is MM 107 where the Keys begin. &nbsp;The Key Largo Bay&nbsp;Marriott&nbsp;Beach Resort is&nbsp;at MM 103.8. There are convenient, wide bike paths along US 1 throughout the Keys, so bike riding is a great way to get around as well. There are a couple of Uber drivers around Key Largo, but availability is limited.

Travel

You’ll enjoy your stay in the island paradise of Key Largo, the first of the fabulous Florida Keys and the self-proclaimed Dive Capital of the World. Key Largo is home to the world's largest artificial reef, the 510-foot USS&nbsp;Spiegel Grove, the John Pennekamp Coral Reef Underwater State Park and the African Queen. Everglades National Park is just a short trip away from Key Largo. Diving, snorkeling and glass-bottom boating in the clear waters of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary are fantastic experiences. Watersport activities in Key Largo are plentiful, including fishing, kayaking and swimming with the dolphins. Or, just relax with a tropical beverage and watch the beautiful sunsets.

Key Largo

The first undersea park in the United States, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park encompasses approximately 70 nautical square miles. While the mangrove swamps and tropical hammocks in the park's upland areas offer visitors a unique experience, it is the coral reefs and their associated marine life that bring most visitors to the park. Many enjoy the view of the reef from a glass-bottom boat tour, but visitors can get a closer look by scuba diving or snorkeling. Canoeing and kayaking through the park's waters are popular activities; fishing is permitted in designated areas. Visitors can enjoy walking on short trails, picnicking, or swimming at the beach. The Visitor Center has a 30,000-gallon saltwater aquarium and nature videos are shown in its theater.

John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Florida, USA

General admission to the park includes dolphin, sea lion, parrot and guided marine life shows, access to the lagoon side beach, and a 5-minute bottomless boat ride around the dolphin lagoon.&nbsp; Shows are up close and personal and guest participation is encouraged. One of the shows is always taking place; guests join the one that is in progress when they arrive and should plan to spend two to three hours in the park.

Theater of the Sea

The bay, beach and incredible sunsets make for the ultimate open-air experience. Located on the north end of the Key Largo Bay Marriott Beach Resort, just over the walking suspension bridge from Gus' Grille, you'll find Breezer's Tiki Bar, where they serve the Key's best frozen drinks.

Skippers Dockside,&nbsp;Key Largo's oceanfront oasis at Mile Marker 100, offers guests a comfortable portal to a time when life was simpler.&nbsp;Be prepared for some of Florida's freshest seafood around, made with&nbsp;local ingredients and a lot of&nbsp;soul.&nbsp;To top off this one-of-a-kind "adult playground," Skippers offers live entertainment, indoor sports and interactive games; as well as, an over-sized media wall ideal for catching all your favorite sports games.
