How it Began

After a terrible breakup and spending enough "me" time for the first few months of 2013, I began to feel empty and started to desperately seek out someone to take this loneliness away and sweep me back into the rift of an amazing companionship. The stars and the moon were aligned one night when I was given the number to someone who was searching for the same exact thing I had lost so long ago. A short few weeks of texting and long phone calls later led to our first in person meeting. So romantically we meet and catch eyes for the very first time at none other than Panera bread right near my parents house (LOL!).

The Meeting

Little did either of us know, that this simple meeting would lead to where we are today. I remember how awkward I was. Fidgeting with my hands. My foot tapping away under the table. The feeling of my chest wanting to explode with nervousness. And the epicness of me being so anxious I could barely look him in the eyes. Intimidated I would look only for a second or two and look off somewhere else (or at my hands fidgeting on the table). Now today, I sometimes am caught looking into his eyes so much so that I don't even recognized if he's shaved his face!

Our Castle

After only shy of 2 and 1/2 years together, in the Summer of 2015 we made plans to wish to live together. After quickly ruling out renting or apartments, etc. we enlisted the help of an amazing realtor, later turned friend, who led us through an amazing journey which led to us finding our forever home. Our palace.

Over the years our castle has been turned into the hub for all our friends. It is a common ground where people of all shapes and colors can be together in harmony and laugh and have great times with each other. The most infamous is our incredible firepit where we host bonfires and on occasion cookouts, all the while soaking in the great view in our backyard.

The Beach

The year we never thought would hit as it did, 2020. The year that pushed back our engagement. Chris' goals to pursue an unforgettable moment to catch me with his ring got pushed back all the way to the end of Summer 2021. Many opportunities came and went between the beginning of covid up to our usual beach trip.

Every year it is almost an annual tradition to go to Ocean City, Maryland for the weekend or so at one of our usual hotels. But 2021 we decided to change it up and instead of the local private business type of place, we chose The Hilton. A massive beautiful hotel with just the right amount of fanciness to give you that vacation vibe but enough of the down home comforts to make it feel like a mom-and-pop hotel. Affordable luxury is what it was. I unknowingly booked a corner suite that had all the workings. Walk-in raining shower, jacuzzi, kitchen, living room, king size bed--you name it.

It Happened . . .

We went outside the typical Friday to Sunday and chose to do Saturday to Monday, to avoid traffic and over crowded areas. The whole weekend went as it normally would until Chris heavily insisted to be up for the sunrise Sunday morning. I have done it on many occasion but him not so much. The whole time leading up to the moment I had the hunch of a lifetime that it was finally happening. Because of covid I knew this plan was going to be pushed back but I had spent nearly two years in anticipation for this moment! And there, at sunrise I see him pull it out of his pocket. Me, of course already recording and taking photos of the sunrise for YouTube I point at him and caught every second!

Now--nearly 10 whole years in the making, we are finally making it officially official!
