Limited parking is available at the wedding ceremony site, Garfield Community Gardens, in a grass lot. Garfield Community Garden Address:2660 Woodland Street NEWarren, OH 44483 Additional parking is available on residential streets near the Garden and the parking lot for Dr. Amine (shown on map below). The baraat procession will begin at the parking lot by the doctor's office and will process down Garfield Drive to arrive at the Garden.

Trumbull Country Club

Such an amazing geological treasure! We love hiking along and into the 'cliffs' here. Tons of trails to explore and even a waterfall.

Weather

Our wedding ceremony and the baraat procession will take place outside, so we'll keep you updated on the weather forecast! Wear or bring shoes that are comfortable for walking. If it is *lightly* raining, we will still continue as planned. In the case of inclement weather (heavy rain/storm), our ceremony will be moved to the same location as our reception.

COVID 

We are always watching the recommendations and requirements for large events and gatherings in Ohio. Good news! Some restrictions have been lifted. We want everyone to be safe and healthy. Our seating for the ceremony and dinner will follow social distancing guidelines. When closer than 6ft distance, we ask our guests to wear a mask. We will provide extra masks. During our outside ceremony, feel free to keep your mask off when distanced.

American  Wedding Traditions

Bridal Procession: Bridesmaids and groomsmen walk down the aisle, followed by the bride who is escorted by her father. The bride joins her groom at the altar and the bridesmaids and groomsmen stand by their sides. We will have our ceremony under a mandap (a wedding tent). Liturgy of the Word: Important Biblical scripture is read, emphasizing teachings about relationships, love, and marriage. Exchange of Vows: Led by the officiant, the bride and groom repeat promises to each other, vowing to commit their lives to one another. During these vows, the bride and groom also place a ring on each other's fingers. "Kiss the Bride!" : American weddings are sealed with a kiss, marking the official start of the marriage.

Indian Wedding Traditions

Mehndi Ceremony: The bride and close friends and family have their hands decorated with mehndi (henna), usually the day before the wedding ceremony. For those attending our Mehndi, it will take place two days before the wedding. Baraat : Traditionally, the groom and his family make a journey to meet the bride's family. In many cases, this is transformed into a grand entrance for the groom's arrival. It's like a parade! The groom arrives in style, often on horseback, and the journey there is filled with music and partying. For our baraat, guests of both the bride and groom's family are encouraged to participate! Exchange of Flower Garlands: Bride and groom place floral garlands on each other, symbolizing their acceptance of each other and this marriage. Seven Circles: The bride and groom walk around a small ceremonial fire seven times, with each circle representing blessings for the couple. Sindoor: Red-orange powder is applied to the bride's hair or forehead to show her new married status.
