Our Wedding

Our love story began in December 2022, when we connected in the wonderful world of online dating. From our very first conversations, it was evident that something special was unfolding between us. But because Chris lived in Georgetown and Kristine lived in Conroe, and we had pretty busy schedules at the time, we had to wait seven weeks to meet in person, and it felt like an eternity. Looking back, we appreciate the time we had to truly get to know each other. We talked every single day, all throughout the day, whether it was video chats on Marco Polo or sending sweet texts and pictures to each other. By the time our date finally arrived, the nerves that typically accompany such moments were barely there and we discovered that our chemistry in person was even better than we could have hoped. There was absolutely no question after that night that we’d be here one day, preparing to get married. So we dated long distance, three-hours-one-way, and traded going back and forth on Wednesdays and weekends all throughout spring and summer. We introduced each other to our kids and our families. We made wonderful memories every time we were together. We spent weekends spent at the Conroe house, Wednesday's in Round Rock, no matter where we are we are always finding the best places to eat, we spent time visiting the farm, and exploring different parks in our respective areas to go on hikes with the kids, and we took our first beach trip to Galveston together in July. We found that each time we saw each other was better than the last and each goodbye was harder to say. It didn’t take long before we decided to take the leap and moved in together, and settled on Hutto, TX. We traded long drives on the weekends for puzzles and movie nights, and taking walks around the new neighborhood with our dog, Finn. Our house immediately became a home; a place for quality time with our kids and to enjoy being a family. On Christmas morning in 2023, Chris popped the question, and got a very excited “yes!” back. We started looking at dates and it was easy to decide that May 4th was meant to be our day. Having a short engagement means a lot of quick decisions and hustle but we have had such a fun time planning our wedding together and we can’t wait to share our special day with all of our family and friends!

We decided not to have a traditional wedding party, however will involve our dearest friends and family in significant moments throughout our day. The processional will feature our parents, Jeff and Kellie Vrba, Bill Cross, and Rhonda Bradley; along with our cherished children, Pierce Branscomb, Isabella Vrba, and Malaya Vrba.

Dress code? Dressy-casual. The ceremony will be outdoors (not in the grass, for anyone wondering about high heels) and the reception will be indoor/outdoor. Our colors are navy blue and any shade of pink. Jeans and cowboy boots are acceptable. Our venue is a lovely old lavender farm setting with live oak trees wrapped in lights, and a historic and restored barn for our ceremony backdrop. Our reception will be inside a luxurious and comfortable barn-style building. There will be a lit fire pit behind the barn during the reception. Expect gorgeous sunset views if the weather is nice! There are multiple great photo ops at this venue for everyone, they even have a vintage tractor set out for just that purpose! Kid-friendly? Yes. Our children will be there and we welcome any little ones that want to join in the celebration. Please make sure you RSVP for your child, and if they are not listed on the RSVP page, please get in touch with either Chris or Kristine. Food and Drinks? Beer, wine, and hard seltzer will be provided by the bride and groom, and served by Franny’s Bartending. Bottled water, sweetened and unsweetened tea will be available at a beverage station. We will be serving Chuy’s famous creamy jalapeno dip, salsa, and queso during cocktail hour and their mixed fajita buffet for dinner.No outside food or drink is permitted per the venue. Parking? On-site parking at the venue. Handicap spaces are available. Smoking/Vaping Area? This is a non-smoking venue, however, there is a designated smoking area just outside the chandelier bridge near the parking. A super short walk from the barn. Unplugged ceremony? We would appreciate it if everyone kept their phones down and silent during the ceremony. We have hired a wonderful photographer and experienced videographer to capture the magic for us. After the I do's, please feel free to take and post any pictures you’d like! When should I get there? How late are we staying? We plan to start the ceremony at 5:30 pm. Please arrive about 15 minutes beforehand to park and be seated. The reception barn will open for drinks and appetizers after the ceremony. Dinner will be served around 6:45 pm, the DJ will turn up the jams around 8:00 pm, and we will have a special send-off at 10:00 pm for the newlyweds. What’s this “special send-off”? You might have noticed, our wedding day coincides with Star Wars Day. Chris is a huge Star Wars fan, so we thought it would be fun to incorporate that into our day when we can. You can expect to see a few nods to Star Wars throughout the day, but especially during our send-off. We will be exiting our wedding as husband and wife through a tunnel of lightsabers! Some of these hotel links are below. **The hotels in Brenham are approximately 12 minutes from the wedding venue.** How to get to Lacey Farms: 4504 FM 390 W, Burton, TX 77385 Coming from Houston:Take Highway 290 to Brenham. Right on FM 2679. FM 2679 ends at FM 390 in front of Lacey Farms. Take a left at the stop and then immediately right into the driveway, and pull around for parking. Coming from Austin:Take Highway 290 toward Brenham. Pass Burton, TX. Left on FM 1948, right at the curve for FM 390, in a few miles Lacey Farms is on the left. Lacey Farms has a large metal entry gate with signage. You will pull into a dirt/gravel driveway (clearly marked) and pull around for parking.

We have checked ahead and it appears that there are Uber and alike options in the area, but they are limited. We have spoken with multiple drivers in the Brenham area on social media and have their contact information and will be putting on this page a couple days before the wedding to assist guests that would like to use a driver. If you are staying at one of the hotels, we encourage carpooling with other guests if you have a designated driver among the group. The drive between the hotel area and the venue consists of a few minutes on Highway 290 and a few miles down a winding FM road . We encourage everyone to be safe and plan ahead!
