Just as the tale as old as time goes...

The Tale of Krysha and Chris started out like any other story book; with a man seeing a beautiful girl on the “People You May Know” page on Facebook. Quickly… about 3 months later, the girl finally accepts his friend request and writes a happy birthday message on his wall. Quickly after, when he finally made the connection of who this girl writing on his wall was, they started to chat and quickly found out that their birthdays were exactly 1 week apart.

Since this time was the beginning of Covid, going on your traditional dates right away were not in the cards. Many long days and nights of playing 21+ questions sped up their getting to know one another. So, May 2, 2020, Chris packed up and they arranged to do a driveway visit on her birthday. With a picnic basket packed full of wonderful treats and goodies along with probably the worst crackers on earth, Chris and Krysha met for the first time. Of course, she fell in love with him right away with his excited penguin waddle bringing her some of her favourite flowers, but she to this day won’t admit that.

Hanging out almost every weekend after their first “meeting” showed that this couple was meant to be. Even with a test of doing renovations and painting a room together 2 weeks after meeting. A month later, Krysha had a quick move up stairs at her old home which led to her saying she loved him, but to this day admits it was due to him getting her a beer that she loved. Chris saying, "I Love You" to Krysha wasn’t far behind. Thus, beginning a crazy but loving relationship.

In short time, they were planning their lives together. Since they knew one day they would be married, they moved in together along with her (now their) two amazing furry babies Maya and Coba. They also started to plan on growing their family. After some tough times and information, they began the process, however, up to now have still not been successful.

During this time, as rough as times were, their love for each other continued to grow stronger and Chris knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Having been aware of her dreams of being married under her favourite apple tree at her parent’s home, he set out to get permission from and speak with her parents. He, with their assistance, came up with a romantic idea to propose to her under that same tree.

The day came and the idea was set in place. The plan was to get her out back of her parent’s home just past the apple tree to get her help moving a bench that was stuck in the snow. As the ploy took place, she walked ahead towards the bench but was pleasantly shocked and excited when he said her name and turned around to find Chris on his knee in the snow, saying “I can’t control many things in life, but I can control how much I love you. Krysha, Will you marry me?”. A tearful but joyful “What are you doing?”, “Are You Serious?”, “YES, of course I will” which was quickly followed by “Do we still have to move the bench?”

Meanwhile her parents were there to take photos of her reaction as she turned around and her response to the big question. And these two were engaged on December 31, 2021.

Krysha and Chris have already shared so much together and have been through a lot of ups and down but are excited that their day is quickly approaching.

They hope everyone near and far can celebrate their love and commitment as they become husband and wife on August 11, 2024, and continue to write their Life’s Adventure Book.
